Sooo horrible, I have just one question....
Why hasn't Brad Brownell moved on to another job? I mean he's a great coach so why not find ANY other program to go and improve that won't hold him back like Clemson does?
Would love a legit answer to that.

Have you ever been to a game? Over $60 million dollars was spent on Littlejohn and millions more has been approved so a lack of funding is a myth.

Fan support is not lacking. Imho, Brad and ad float that concept because the more fans, the more revenue.
Funding, as valley said is a myth. Same as Fan support. Turn on any other team not named Duke or unc and there's less fans than we have... even in populated metro cities.
As for committed, Brad and staff make more than 300 other teams out of 350 total teams. So, where could Brad go and make close to what he's making now. Approx 50 schools.
But the real reason is simple, nobody wants Brad. He doesn't get job offers. Not even mid major offers.

Not but a few on here that are in love with the guy. For reasons unknown, and the excuses make it seem that we are the dumb ones. We compare budgets to other ACC schools that put a fraction into football. Clemson is a football school but to spew the untruth that basketball is not funded is asinine. Littlejohn was renovated and as far as I know in comparisons to other schools looks pretty darn good. I really wish Brownell was courted by other teams. At least we would know we had someone that others respected as a basketball coach. Duke assistants are more respected than Brownell and they have never been an HC.
Didn’t take Barnes very long to land a high profile job at Texas. Where would Brownell land if he is let go. Hint: it wouldn’t be a school like the Texas job. Don’t buy into the loser mentality that this is as good as it gets.

than Memorial Stadium originally did. On top of that, Frank Howard was the AD when Littlejohn was built, so the narrative that basketball was neglected by a football focused athletic department is also a myth.

Fan attendance at games is such a minor component of basketball revenue. You get revenue by doing well at the NCAA tourney and by TV contracts. Adding 1,000 fans/game at like $20-30 a ticket isn't going to do anything for our program.

I’m sure Brad has let Neff know on the down-low about all the other programs that are constantly courting him. It’s just that no one else knows about them, for privacy reasons.

VERY SAD ACTUALLY. MR NEFF HAS ALREADY STATED WHAT THE EXPECTATIONS ARE FOR BASKETBALL. GUESS IT IS NOT OK TO LET HIM DO HIS JOB AND JUST ENJOY THE SEASON THE TEAM IS HAVING SO FAR. ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS TURN ON THE TV AND SEE HOW HARD IT IS TO WIN. ESPECIALLY ON THE ROAD. THIS TEAM IS 10-3 WITH 3 GUARDS MISSING TIME, ONE A LOT OF TIME, AND OUR BEST PLAYER STILL TRYING TO GET BACK TO 100% FROM 2 MAJOR INJURIES. BUT HEY I GUESS IT MAKES SOME FEEL LIKE REAL MEAN TO TRASH THE PROGRAM DAILY. PRETTY SURE NONE WOULD DO IT TO HIS FACE.

What is your beef?
Feb 9, 2023, 9:03 AM

Is Clemson not tied for first place in the ACC when it was a preseason pick to finish 11th?
I mean, are we now saying Clemson Basketball must win every single ACC game or not lose another in order for this to be seen as good by the coaches?
What is your beef with the current Clemson Basketball coaching staff?
Are you mad because they are considered an NCAA bubble team? - well that is good news for Clemson, per its basketball history. As in it is a positive to be in the considerataion of NCAA tournament as Tigers have reached the NCAA tournament 13 times since 1980 (43 years). Have made NCAA Sweet 16 four times (1980, 1990, 1997, 2018) and the Elite Eight (once) in 1980. Clemson has a total of 11 wins and 13 losses in NCAA Tournament since 1980.
Are you angry about how Clemson is winning and losing in the ACC? Brownell's had four seasons of double-digit wins in ACC play after only three in Clemson's first 57 league seasons.
Explain, what is your beef? Who would come to Clemson to replace him? Do you trust Clemson's AD to make the best decision for Clemson basketball and Clemson athletics? The new AD put Clemson basketball on notice that making the NCAA Tournament was a prime directive.
What do you want?

I am absolutely pi$$ed-off that Clemson is considered an NCAA bubble team.
Based on the strength of schedule Clemson has played, both in and out of conference, coupled with experience and depth on the team, Clemson should be a lock for the NCAA tournament, and frankly, anything less is unacceptable.

My beef is Brad has to make the Tourney. He's made it 2 times in 12 years. That is not the expectation. And no matter how much you want to trash Clemson's basketball history that won't change.
Are your expectations to make the NCAAs 2 times in over a decade?! Do you not want Clemson BB to better than we have been historically? Are you satisfied with average? 17-16 and 16-15 seasons are considered a success to you?
Sounds like you are cool with mediocrity. Which is fine. But don't lie to yourself and after we miss the Tourney AGAIN this year make more excuses for Brown-L about injuries and the team was tired. It's the same thing EVERY YEAR.

The double digit wins comment is very misleading. When you add a bunch of teams to the ACC - it makes it easier. Especially when the ACC has taken a nose dive in quality.
If you define success as simply beating bad expectations, then that says a lot.
As for who will come and lead us? Does it matter? Where did Dabo stack up on the list when Clemson thought about football coach?
If we take a step back - yet we tried - I can live with that. That step back would be from a great season of beating the 11th place expectations to the bottom quarter of the ACC. Not much of a drop when you consider the possibilities. Brad has sucked the air out of the room, the excitement out of basketball for the students and fans. Time for a change no matter what happens this year. After 13 years - do you think that Brad has suddenly figured it out? What changed? Did he get hit by lightning? Did he read a book on basketball? Did he suddenly change and become a monster recruiter? Nothing has changed this year. What has changed is we have a couple of really good players in Tyson and pj - and some pretty good role players that might develop. When Tyson leaves and pj inside go away - what happens? What happens when Louisville, unc, Duke, Syracuse, Florida state, Notre dame recover from their worst seasons in many years? Give someone new a chance.

I hear who do we replace him with? Well I do not know anyone that can recruit and manage a game. We know what we have in Brownell at this point just like we knew what we had in Tommy Bowden. Average coach. No way else to sugarcoat it. How many years has he been here? I love Clemson and will never believe this is as good as it gets.
I would wager that a large percentage do not believe we will finish first in a weakened ACC. Do we hope we are wrong heck yea but it feels like the air is slowly coming out of the balloon. I had thought 2-3 weeks ago we would be a lock for the tourney and now do not believe we even get in with our upcoming schedule. All teams have injuries and all teams get tired, but some teams also get better as the season goes along.
