That Clemson's days in the ACC are numbered. From all the rumors and speculation Clemson's name gets thrown around a lot and with good reason. Once Notre Dame pledges its loyalty Clemson will the next big fish that wont be in the SEC or BIG 10.
I think it's a good situation to be in maybe some other teams like FLA ST or UNC join us but Clemson will be in the drivers seat and control where we go.
I dont think an announcement comes out anytime soon, maybe next year or the year after. But my prediction is Clemson will be playing in the SEC come 2027.

Heck, it's not just Clemson's whose days are numbered in the ACC.
The entire ACC's days as a FB powerhouse conference are ticking away fast.
And yes, the ACC ... same as (or more so than) the PAC 12 and Big 12 ... is currently a FB powerhouse.
Any conference that has had teams in the CFP has got to be considered a power conference (even if FL State is the only school other than us to get into the CFP).

I would think this stuff would be taken care of before the next round of SEC and B1G negotiations. Not sure how long their current deals run.

In terms of conference expansion Notre Dame will be the next big name to join a conference (likely the BIG 10). After that all eyes will be on Clemson to see where they go.

We may be the top target. Unless something has changed in ND’s eyes they will still be independent. If a new playoff format does not afford them an opportunity, only then would I believe there would be a legit chance they would even consider it.

He’s saying that of all the teams not associated with the Big10 or SEC, Notre Dame is the biggest fish left out there and we are #2.
I would agree with that to an extent. FSU has a good case. UNC as an athletic department could be more compelling if weighting the financials in the decision more.

Good point, you can certainly make arguments for FSU or UNC. Heck you could even argue that Oregon or Washington are they next in line. The point I was trying to make with my initial post is that Clemson is in a good spot with the conference expansion talk.
I would hate to be in a place like GT who might get picked up or might get left out.

Agree with rhpltmeg® and RememberTheDanny on faster timetable. ESPN and FOX SPORTS actuaries and bean counters are doing their homework on current branding values and branding values for college teams if they move to the SEC and B1G. Then it all flows down to conferences and universities ...
