Deshaun has maintained his innocence all along, and the criminal grand jury's decision not to indict only made his argument stronger. Buzbee is holding a losing hand, as are his clients.

They don't have to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt and the burden of proof falls much more on the defendant in a civil case where it's squarely on the prosecution in a criminal case.
I still think its unlikely that Watson and his team want to take these cases to trial. Settlements are likely.

Seems like their entire case is hearsay. And despite the burden of proof, you know as well as I do that DW's attorneys will flog the jury with the criminal result throughout the duration of the trial(s).
This is not OJ. In that case, there was clearly a crime committed, and it was fairly clear to most who was the culprit. While fancy footwork on the part of the highly paid defense team and egregious mistakes on the part of the prosecution led to a criminal acquittal, there was no disputing the fact that two people were dead, and there was no viable alternate perpetrator.

It will come down to the county the case is in and the jury.. Unfortunately for Watson Houston is a democratic county.
Watson 's attorney will try to get black males in their mid 20's
Busgbee will try to get white females in their 50's.
