the ball, learn their playbook and play with purpose.
dye manned up by year's end. jones, ford, clear and brown need to do the same this year.
talented group, but they need to step up. it'll be nice having mcneal in the mix - from all acounts he'll press those in front of him for reps.

do their job or lose them. When you recruit kids that want it worst than the ones there. Could bring on a possitive effect. The WR we have surely needs someone to effect them.

I got to watch him play several times in HS

and each time he looked like the best player on the field. Keep in mind he played for a small 3A school so he'll be facing much better players at the next level.

I like his confidence and attitude.
We could use some more of that on our football team.
(and basketball...)

Its not often a true frosh makes an immediate impact

but given our WR depth headed into next season coupled with his natural athleticism his window of opportunity will be wide open.

Small school... I've been gone for a while but Daniel always was a state powerhouse and has produced good D1 talent for years (Jenkins, the Youngs, even going back to Terry Smith). I think he'll be well prepared and ready to go.

I like the fact that

he just wants to come in and compete. I know a lot of people give a lot of flack to Pete Carrol and Lane Kiffin, but the one thing I have always liked about them as coaches is that their motto is compete and they won't recruit anybody who is concerned about the depth chart. Seems like Hopkins has that mentality. He does not care who is in front of him because he wants to compete and prove that he deserves to be at the top.

maybe just because we are so weak at WR. I watched him a few times--bit of a heat-seeking missile on defense. very good eyes and anticipation, very savvy. Watched him play point in basketball, same thing: very intelligent, team player, excellent passer, eyes could see whole court, and of course quick slasher off dribble, though not a great shooter.

like when a DB drops a sure INT...everybody says "there's a reason he's on defense".
