true and Hunter has a very strong work ethic. I would bet he spends about as much time working on his game as anyone

The better question is how did brownell lose in the first round of the NIT at home as a number 1 seed with a player like Hunter Tyson?

would never have gotten a sniff of the NBA. I would say that, just like 1988 Notre Dame football players said they succeeded in spite of Lou Holtz, Tyson succeeded in spite of Brad Brownell.

And still couldn’t make the NCAA tourney or win a first round NIT game at home. I think we can confirm he’s just a terribly bad game coach.

Right - Brad Brownell is a terrible coach. There is a single game plan. It works or it doesn’t. Making adjustments is simply too much.

How did Michael Jorden get better after leaving Dean Smith? By your logic Dean was a terrible coach

Dean Smith had MJ playing team ball. Back them MJ head couldn't fit in the Coliseum at Chicago he head wouldn't fit in Wrigley Field..

He didn’t, dean taught him how to play the game and the fundamentals, that’s why he was such a great defender. Jordan wouldn’t have been Jordan without dean…. Can’t say the same of Brownell players. I know the old joke that the only person to ever stop Jordan was dean, but Jordan even credits dean with all his development to teach him how to be a team player and play both ends. This is closer to a John Calapari situation where you can’t believe all the great Kentucky players in the NBA… the whole “he went to Kentucky too!?!?” Reaction for guys like Tyrese Maxi, Devon Booker as a bench player at Kentucky, Jamal Murray, etc…

Found this gem:
That was the education I got from Dean Smith. Coming out of high school, I had all the ability in the world, but I didn't know the game. Dean taught me the game, when to apply speed, how to use your quickness, when to use that first step, or how to apply certain skills in certain situations. I gained all that knowledge so that when I got to the pros, it was just a matter of applying the information. A lot of people say Dean Smith held me to under 20 points a game. Dean Smith gave me the knowledge to score 37 points a game, and that's something people don't understand.
Michael Jordan

Let’s give Brownell the credit. That closes the book on all the excuses. He can recruit. He can develop that talent. He works the portal. HE. JUST. CAN’T. COACH!!!
It’s the only explanation left for a guy that takes these rosters full of NBA talent and lose to sub-200 RPI teams.

What’s mind blowing is seeing his talent and knowing that we had two nba players plus other upper class men on the same team and couldn’t even make the tourney … that’s mind blowing

You've made the same stupid comment on another thread.

It makes zero sense. He's competing at the highest level as a rookie he can possibly compete at.
Yea, against the best in the NBA, he'll likely not be as impactful yet, but in the context of this thread, you're making an aszs of yourself, again.

He’s improving more since he left, have you watched him this summer.
He never played like that at Clemson, he was very good last season but since he left he has gotten better.
I’m sure Brad helped him but this isn’t a good example.

Clemson - the trainers, facilities, nutrition table, etc - gave the Tyson the foundation that has enabled him to blossom the moment he has been put in capable hands. It certainly wasn’t Brad.
