80's, the counter balance was the offense. The option had its advantages but we all knew if we ever got down 2-3 scores, it was usually goodnight Irene. Left, right pitch. Fullback dive. Rinse and repeat. Hard to apply pressure to a team when you are trying to overcome a deficit.

Met MPD when the Anderson Applebee's opened in mid 80's. He could put away some chow. I always thought he'd do well in the pros. He was so dang quick off the ball. We had some defense those years. MPD, Chester, Levon, donnell....

I met them at the Anderson Mall and got my first football autographs from all of them. They took time to talk to us kids as well as my family. They were so real and humble.
Those guys were all so special. Clemson really is family, love all those guys.

was an incredible athlete also. I'll never forget the first time I saw her play basketball.
