Swinney on playing Friday night: "I don't like it"
Boston College and Clemson will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening and Dabo Swinney doesn’t like it. Clemson’s head coach didn’t hide his feelings when asked about playing on Friday – a night that is known for high school football in South and when his sons Will and Drew play for Daniel High School.

No....their games are a priority for him and rightfully so. The worst part of these 2 "short weeks" is that both have been on the road. That's tough. But the Tigers anyone, anywhere, anytime. GO TIGERS!

He will be able to watch his sons game this week. They (Daniel) are playing on Thursday @ Ninety Six, I'd say he will probably fly out after that game. He done the same thing when we played @ Auburn. I seen him at the Daniel game that Friday night, and he flew out that night to Auburn.

I can't help but think it is wrong to pull students out of even more classes for Thursday, Friday, or even Monday games. I also understand it is for TV, bUT I don't have to like it.

I'm "guessing" that the ACC or the broadcaster is trying something new - as college football brings ratings where normal Friday night TV can be dull...(?)

High School Football games cancelled by Hurricane Matthew.

All SC public schools have been cancelled for the remainder of the week by Gov. Nikki Haley because of Hurricane Matthew.
It is expected that all HS football, volleyball, XC, Band, competitions may be cancelled and rescheduled for early next week.
Individual school districts may have other plans, but as of now - NO FOOTBALL ON FRIDAY.

All schools are not closed, only Counties that will potentially be affected by the hurricane are closing (i.e. most Low-Country Counties). You're correct that all travel has been cancelled though (to my knowledge), so no sporting events will be taking place.

I don't like it either. But my question is, how do some schools seem to avoid Thursday and Friday games? I don't remember Alabama or Ohio St. playing on Thursday or Friday. Certainly not twice in a year.

I agree. Not sure why we have to play on Thursday or Friday. Many schools just wont do it.
My Georgia friends tell me that Georgia refuses to play on any day other than Saturday.

His Kids play on Thursday night this week because of the storm. So he should be able to see them play. Not that it makes his point any less Valid. High School on Friday College on Saturday Professional on Sunday and Monday. I don't understand why we just can't keep to this.

The last time they wore those in 2015 they gave FSU all they wanted and more. That said the Tigers should blast them, but gotta keep focused after the big win on Saturday night.
