Should be let go as the WR coach. It’s obvious he doesn’t know how to either evaluate or coach up outside WRs. I do think we hit on wesco but heard Jeff Scott had helped alot on him. He has done good with the slot with Williams and now Tyler brown but we have no big outside deep threats. When clemson was good we had the Mike Williams and WRs that could go up and catch a 50 yard ball that’s thrown up for him to get. We no longer have those guys. All I heard b4 Randell tore his acl last year was how much he reminded coaches of Sammy or Mike Williams. But he can’t get any separation maybe the ACL injury is still holding him back idk but from what they said about him I expected him to come out and ball. Not so much, also Troy was makin great catches for first downs and then don’t see him again for a long time. Like I’m sorry but I don’t believe in him anymore. Dabo needs to get these ex players with no coaching experience out and bring in some ppl that know how to recruit and coach up every WR not just the slot guys (where Tyler played). Some ppl might disagree but Idc Go Tigers!!!!

I was there too watching and brown troy and a few guys did create separation but Randell was not one of them. We were getting the middle of the field yes but no big outside boundary throws/catches and it hasn’t just been this game. Which outside WR have played really good all 3 games or 2/3?

I also don’t mean like 15-20 yard passing but like 40+ yard downfield catches? Which outside WR has impressed you?

Beaux Collins didn't do much either. He got worked over pretty good by the FSU DB's imo.

than you’ll ever know. And I’ll certainly trust a former D-1 quarterback regarding WR separation more than an average fan. And by using “now” it implies a change of course on my part, as if I said he was not credible in the past regarding the topic at hand. So if you could pull that post that would be great, or are you making stuff up… again?

Brown made some good catches and Troy made some good first downs, bringingstool as well but how many yards do Collins have or Randell, not to count the lousy outside blocking. I will repeat this has to do with Outside boundary WRs. He can find slot guys aka Antonio Williams and Tyler brown but we need both to get back to where we want to be inside and outside for deep balls.

the WR just had good hands on a lot of those plays, which is great.
But I judge the coaching on stuff like blocking and route running.
None of that has looked good since Grisham came along.

I think he'll be ok. He's got Dabo available to him at any time and I'm sure Dabo would help him in any area he's struggling. I'm sure Jeff will also be of more use to the team than what we've heard so far. When he recently said they love it here and want to raise their children here , I think the writing is on the wall.
In no way would he sit by idly and watch the team suffer if he's certain he could be of some use.
The proof will be in the pudding as they say , next year when we once again field a solid unit.
I think we expected Riley to be more of a " plug and play " OC given that he won the Broyles award for the nation's top Coordinator. People perhaps need to be reminded TCU had the second highest drafted WR in June in addition to a 4th rd pick. At the moment we have no such talent.
Let's be fair to Grisham and give him a little more wiggle room. They'll get better. No excuses next year. None

It's year 1 for Riley's offense. They're just not clicking. I think we'll see improvement by years end but not in leaps and bounds. But I can guarantee you the staff will work to get it fixed.
I still maintain next year's unit will tell the tale

The WR screen doesn't work with no threat of a deep ball. When you have corners jamming receivers at the line of scrimmage the screen should not be in play.

I’d like to more regarding why we didn’t offer Tyler Brown until November. Kid is the only receiver I see that can take the top off the defense. He may be the best WR on the team.
That would have been a huge miss. We need to quit relying on the recruiting services. They were obviously wrong on a kid in our own backyard.
