For those pushing for BB to he retained:

We had a football coach that by every metric was way more successful, and after years of being also rans or coming up short in head scratching losses, old Tommy Bowden was run right out of town. Were we able to get someone better? I sure think so. But, but, won't they leave if they get to winning? Dabo sure seems willing to stay. It will absolutely take the right guy. A guy with a vision, commitment and passion for us to be great. But if we ever get all that we will be good. Go Tigers!

Hey look, another moron who thinks Clemson football and Basketball have the the same potential and can be judged against each other. In case you missed it, Clemson football is an all time top 20 program with a national championship under its belt when CTB was here. Clemson football is a destination job. Clemson basketball is by most measures the bottom program in the ACC from a historical perspective. A good comparison is clemson basketball and coot football.

Hey look another moron that calls people with a different perspective a moron. Clemson football is a destination job because Coach Swinney made it a destination job.
I've been saying all along you target someone that enjoys the family life. Someone that would love small town living but access to places like Greenville. Someone that would have a difficult decision to move his family if the situation arises.
BB ain't leaving because no one wants him. If we hired a successful coach that eventually left, then I'd enjoy the hell out of the ride that got us there.

He called it a destination job at his INTRODUCTORY press conference. At that point (when he was named HC) we had already won multiple conference championships, major bowl victories and a national championship. As of now, we have only won two or more games in the ACC Basketball Tournament twice in 70 years. So i fully support alternative views but not alternative facts.
Its ok for fans to be willing to play the coaching carousel but at least be honest and admit that the chances of finding a successful coach who is willing to stay more than a few years is slim and the churn means we will be starting over each time a new HC is hired. The likely result is we will have more Shyatt seasons than we do Barnes seasons.

Did you know that Shyatt had a higher win percentage in his final year (Year 5) than this year's team (Brownell's year 12)?

shyatt also coached in an era when the most difficult out of conference team we typically faced was austin peay. this is absolutely a new era of college basketball.

Clemson might have been his destination job but it was not anybody else's. The football program hadnt won 10 games in a season since 1990 before this current run.
My grandpa used to tell me you encourage what you tolerate. If the administration is fine with mediocre everything, which I dont believe they are based on the money spent on little john, then fine keep BB forever. The defeatist attitude of well we have never been good so we cant expect to be good is down right stupid.

The point is Clemson had the bones to be a destination job. Those bones were established by Frank Howard and Danny Ford. Clemson basketball had no such bones (foundation) in place.
My grandfather told me you get what you pay for. The money spent on LJ was because it was rusting out so they had no choice. Compare the football facility (not DV) to our basketball facility. By my count we have spent $250M on football outside of DV but what have we spent on basketball?

Football program before Dabo?
Based on win percentage, major bowl wins and a national championship the answer is yes but in the high teens.

Ohhh gosh, ya wanna come at me like that, what with the insults and all. I am deeply saddened; does this mean we can't be friends now? Ok, I will join you as we huddle together embracing mediocrity (less than). On second thought, naw, I'll pass. Seriously, no one is Expecting our program to turn into Duke or North Carolina but if you feel this has been an acceptable run after 12 seasons you are One of those folks that hands out the Orange slices and juice boxes. Me? I'm just looking for some wins!

in basketball!
No doubt if we decide to fund it like we have the football program we can have a good program. Not sure great but a good program. We would also group fund a basketball NIL and turn the program around. What we do know that replacing the HC with no other change will not solve the issue and will only serve to make an average program worse.

Our program is below average. We aren’t even inthe top 66 teams to make the tourney. And it is a stretch to make it to the losers tournament NIT. We are sub mediocre as a program and so is our coach.

The reason we have been able to attract and keep good football coaches is because of fan support, even when we had losing or so-so records. We do not have that support in basketball. I will bet that most of those clamoring for a new coach, do not support the basketball team by regular attendance.
I let the administration make the decision and support them either way. If we get a new coach, I hope he will have a classy presence on the court to the players and the refs.
I doubt that we can get another coach we a world championship on his resume.

Awww, my shack? You are funny little fella! Luckily neither my self, nor financial well being are tied to a pulse or down vote, meaning I'm ok. However I'm guessing the same could not be said for you in either case. Run along now, ENJOY that thumbs down power little Emperor!
