Favorite play in Clemson History?

Big games have big plays that stick with you for years. What is your most memorable Clemson play.
Mine is Gaines Adams strip of the Wake Forest holder and return for TD. A momentum snatcher to be sure but the seamless motion from the big man was impressive to say the least.

"The Catch" by a large measure.

For sheer drama and excitement in the right place at the right time, no other play comes close for me.
Where we were at the time, and who we did it to ... sublime!

agreed. and #2 on my list was the 75 yard TD pass from Jimmy Addison to Jackie Jackson on a swing route out of the backfield to complete the comeback against Va. in 1966

Homer Jordan 23 yard run to seal National Championship. There is nothing in Clemson history to compare.

The Catch II/Our Woody Bests Ur #### bc..

I had 2 usc fans who happened to be woman sitting behind. They acted like typical usc fans but you could tell the had never watched a down of football. They threatened to sue for sexual harassment when the students on the Hill blew the giant ##### that said "Our Woody Beats Your ####". After they celebrated their victory about a minute to soon, Woody connected and Hunt put it through. The two lovely woman proceeded to sit down and become deathly silent.

turn a deadlock game against the favored 8-2/George Rogers led coots into a 27-6 rout. It made Clemson's record 6-5 and possibly saved Danny Ford his job and set up the team for its national championship run the following year. (I know 2 plays)

I will share my least favorites.... :-D

1) The Catch, youngsters don't realize that fans almost never got to watch on TV. "No Cigar Tonight" t-shirts had the greatest few minutes.... but alas Jerry Butler.
2) The Pushoff again elation to depths of despair.
3) Whitehurst, Whitehurst, Whitehurst and Whitehurst
4) 63-17, I stayed, the entire game. CU could've forever etched it's name in arch rival history. Tigers fans could've stormed our field, ripped down our goal posts and had our conference fine us $50,000.
5) Brawl - IMHO a worse beat down than 63-17

My favorite play was the play of our defense in the 1989 Gator Bowl against WVU. They owned Major Harris and WVU.

I was with my young daughters at the Wake game and when they lined up for that FG with a 17-0 lead, we went to get some hot chocolate, thoroughly demoralized. When I heard the roar, I assumed they faked it and scored a TD... came back in to see 17-7 on the scoreboard... And the rest is history as they say
