Dyer is worth the risk, what's the worst that could happen?
Jul 10, 2013, 1:09 PM
|
|
A) He's played in and been successful in a scheme like Clemson's.
B) He's more talented than any RB on the roster.
C) The kid posted a 3.6 gpa at Baptist community college.
D) His past transgressions seem to be a product of being young and unwise rather than being "a bad apple"...kinda like #2.
In my view, if he starts acting up, you cut him. He's probably more aware than anyone how close he is to NFL money, so I don't see that happening.

I don't like the message it sends.

It goes against the foundation that Dabo has built the program on, and it erodes one of his bigger selling points to recruits and their families.
We don't need to accept players that have been dismissed from other major programs (or ours).

That's a stupid message. The way football should be is if you try really hard, wait your turn, you will be guaranteed carries.

and the BEST that could happen is he makes our team BETTER
that's what matters
plus, dabo never had a shot with him........he could do wonders for the kid you never know, but the bottomline is it wouldn't HURT the team

Dabo built the foundation on strong character and Christians beliefs. There should be nothing wrong with giving a troubled person who has made an attempt to clean up their act a second chance, but letting him be fully aware that one slip up will be the end of his career entirely.
Overall, I think our team has enough character and adding a talent such as his couldn't hurt us.
In fact, he could do fantastic things for our program. He's an outstanding talent.

Just the though of having this kid come to Clemson...
Jul 10, 2013, 1:41 PM
|

has taken an entire page of T-Net. If our school actually entertained the concept of a conversation with this kid T-Net would have a complete and fatal meltdown, all relevant fans would lose focus and we'd blow our opener.
Save yourself, save T-Net and for heaven's sake save out football program.
On second thought, we are really hurting for a topic worth discussion, so carry on.

The word "sarcasm" involves bitter contempt, really trying to cut someone down. When people use the word "sarcasm," what they usually mean is "irony". Sarcasm is a subset of irony.

Right, but with all the shootings in the last 5+years, I still thought the comment was in poor taste, you'd feel pretty $hitty if something like that really happened wouldn't you?!! Especially to your #### brethren!!!

If he had played at USuC, can you imagine the threads about him on here?
And what's the worst that could happen? He could pull the ole gun out. Clemson doesn't need that trash and I hope we don't stoop that low.

We either take the high road or the win at all costs road. There is no middle of the road. I want to win, but not at all costs. I hope this kid gets his life together and makes a productive citizen, somewhere else.

Dude, if we cut ties with Mike Bellamy why in the world would we take Mike Dyer? He doesn't fit the profile of one of Dabo's guys. Would he be an upgrade; undoubtedly. He certainly would help our scheme and system. Now is it worth it? The answer is absolutely not!

He's a great back, but dado would never and should never go for it. Erodes the foundation he has built as a hard nose, earn your keep kind of coach. We can all be thankful for that.
