Do you think

That Coach Swinney and his staff are trying to simplify the game for the QB?

I’ve seen the offense remain very simple thus far. Very little new things have been added to the team. Especially the offense.

I have yet to see a single player try to take control of the game! The Tigers go thru the motions of being an explosive team but rarely
Become a dominating team on the field.

Am I out in left field on this opinion!

Whatever they're doing,

Dabo needs to recruit HS and portal kids and let his OC worry about the offense. That includes letting Riley choose his staff.

I believe you're in shallow left field on this one. It's obvious our coaching staff doesn't trust in our OL to create enough time for Cade and to create holes in the run game which is fair.

Also I wouldn't say our plays are very simple. We don't see the plays on TV from a birds-eye view, we're only seeing the line getting pushed back and pressure getting into Cade's face. The concepts of routes are really good from what I've been able to see, but when Cade doesn't have time in the pocket to let them develop we watch him scramble for his life.

Clemson mostly calls plays that don't require a 3+ second read from Cade to make. He sees one on one coverage on the boundary he'll throw up a deep fade/over the top ball. If he sees deep cover-2 with pressure coming he checks down to his drag or a slant over the middle. We need a simplified offense in order to get the ball moving downfield or our offense will be playing from behind most of the time.

First of all, when the coach says "hand off" and the QB hears "keep", I'm not sure the coaches can get simple enough to solve Clemson's problems.

If you don't see new things added, then you are looking in the wrong direction. Randall over the middle instead of keeping him near the sideline was new last week and was good.

50/50 balls to Collins early in a set of downs was a new wrinkle that had mixed results.

Briningstool stretching the field instead of hanging out within 10 yards of the LOS as a safety net was new and it was good.

Those are just a few obvious changes as the season has progressed. Things change each game based on the opponents tendencies. We aren't going to change the entire offense. Coaches don't do that mid-season and Riley's concepts weren't that different from what Clemson ran previously. The hoped change by Riley was a change in tendencies and timing of play calls. He is trying, but limited by what he is working with.

Taking control of a game: Offensively, 3 position groups can take control of a game. QB, RB, OL.

OL isn't happening this year, so cross that one off.

We can lump QB and RB together because it seems their lack of emotional control prevents them from making plays when the team needs them the most.

We may have a few players in the receiving game with the potential to take over a game, but if the OL and QB aren't functioning when it matters, then the WR'TEs can't do anything.

Example: Briningstool was in the zone last week and dominating the Miami defense. We go to him on a crucial 3rd and long only to have the ball thrown inside and short and hit the DB in the back in coverage. A back shoulder or over the top throw and Briningstool has a chance to make the play, but the playmaker never got a chance to take over on that one.
