FSU just secured DJ on the cheap. I fully expect their boosters to be tampering like crazy between now and the next portal window. Do not be shocked when FSU magically obtains a great QB from the portal in April.

one of my kids was an FSU student athlete and I've got a lot of friends down there...
They seriously seem to think DJ is going to be a dude for them. They're excited about this.
One of them told me yesterday, "DJ is the last QB to beat FSU in the regular season!"

We won because he was a decent game manager. But could never get our offense to top 25. They are in for a rude awakening when their offense falls and they have to rely on a heavy run game and win on defense almost every game.

he'll def be the best he can ever be at this level for FSU. He has more experience than most. But its inevitable that there will always be those brain-dead moments that happen which will frustrate any fanbase. But this is who FSU is going forward. Now that cheating is legal they will live and die by the portal. Some years will be like this year and there will be others that pan out miserably. One thing is for certain there will be no soul or brotherhood at FSU from this point forward b/c of the quick-cash contracted players that they pay for year to year. They will be chewed up and spit out by this system.

He has skills and if they are used appropriately, he can be an effective QB.
He just didn't fit Clemson's system and our poor oline didn't help.
He needs a pro set and/or an offensive line that let him sit in the pocket and wait for plays to develop.

FSU needed a serviceable QB and DJ needed another pay to play landing spot without any real competition for the starting job.

How do you know they got him on the cheap? What was the dollar figure he agreed to take and how does that compare to what other QB have received in NIL? Note, please don't use the On3 estimated value as it is only a guess.

I don’t know of any way to see how much a booster is paying a player. I am just trying to connect the dots since DJ was the 10th ranked QB to enter the portal and he sat unclaimed for a while. DJ may be laughing all the way to the bank but, I don’t see it.

If anything, they probably try to find a QB of the future if they don't believe in Brock Glenn or other recruit coming in.

DJ will probably play and do a so,so job but he is no
Jordon. He isn't much of a scrambler and is a little
slow compared to QB's in the big bowls.On the other
hand, he can be a power back in short yardage behind
a decent offensive line.
