Make no mistake, the left still despises the police and are actively working to undermine them at every opportunity, whether it's no cash bail, just refusing to prosecute criminals when arrested, etc. However they now realize this isn't a winning issue for them among moderates (far leftists still think rampant crime is great) and are now refraining from the actual phrase "defund the police ". This allows them to continue with the same basic agenda without upsetting all those females in the suburbs who like the illusion of safety and of not being raped or murdered on their way for a latte. Gotta keep those ladies minds on the evil Pubs taking away their rights to abort their baby right up until birth. So it hasn't died off, it's just being done with less fanfare to avoid upsetting the rubes.

So, it makes you happy when moronic Democrats (the category into which the vast majority reside) conjure up innovative policies (I.e., example of true leadership) that are obviously moronic to everyone except the morons … and then in reactionary fashion (after it becomes obvious to even the moron Democrat voters) quietly abandon their own ideas.
Democrats are only leaders when it comes to conjuring up stupid policies. They are only followers, and subsequently front runners, when attaching themselves to smart policies that non-RINOs put forth.
The hilarious aspect of Democrat voters is that they follow the followers (I.e., Democrat politicians), yet self-describe as innovative thinkers.
Original thoughts that also can be translated into good policy are extremely rare among the Democrat voters and their political masters.
In the meantime …defund the police and keep the border open.

It is remarkable how Joe Biden has managed to eliminate systemic racism in just 3 short years and quell all the outrage among the anarchists in Portland and Seattle.
If Trump is elected, I suspect systemic racism will recur and the anarchists will be attacking the Federal Building in Portland again.

Biden has actually sent more money to police departments around the country. "Defund the Police" was a stupid slogan. But if anything, we're increasing funding to the police.
And homicide rates, which exploded during Trump's last year in office, have come down strongly in the last two years.

By the numbers: Preliminary public data from 177 cities analyzed by AH Datalytics indicates that the country could see at least a 12% decrease in murders from last year.
Declines have been seen in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and other large cities.
The firm expects homicides overall to fall from 21,156 last year to around 18,450 this year, representing a 12.8% decline.
Other forms of violent crime — rape, aggravated assault and robbery — are set to see a decline as well, according to preliminary quarterly data published by the FBI earlier this month.

ANTIFA and BLM remain quiet when a Democrat is in office. If Trump is allowed to win again, the Democrats will enlist the bureaucracy (including the FBI) to instigate violence again.
Just like what happened on J6. Refer to the FBI choreographed pipe bomb incidence, in which House of Representative member Thomas Massey’s questioning of assistant FBI director revealed. FBI is lying their tails off to cover up their seditious activity, but are still being gradually exposed for their criminality in fomenting violence.
