Dabo was pretty upset after the Furman game.

He had some critical things to say about the team, especially the defense.
I saw a lot of predictions here this past week about the team coming out and being a much different team against Louisiana Tech, as a result of Dabo really getting on his coaches and players this week.
So my questions are:
1. Did you see the change you predicted? 2. How are you feeling about the Wake game?

They were having a good year and we blew them out. It really set the tone for the remainder of our season.
Here’s to Wake being that game for us this year too!

We'll have a dogfight till the end with Wake and if you compare recruiting rankings this should not be the case.

I’m not sure why you think that. NC State, maybe, but not Wake. Liberty pushed them all over the place. Wake = weak.

said, I had to keep reminding myself that we were missing some key people on defense.
Re: Wake, I just don’t know. Our major problem is, we’re inconsistent: occasionally brilliant, too often mediocre. (I’m old enough to remember that Danny Ford would never tolerate *that*.) Nothing I’ve seen so far has inspired much confidence in the new coordinators. The schedule gets tougher from here on out, and if we don’t play consistently well, we’re in trouble.
During the stretch when we won those last two national championships, the team had the kind of confidence you saw in FSU during its heyday: losing was inconceivable to those guys, and they played that way. I didn’t see that last season, and I’m not seeing it now.

Losing was inconceivable except when we lost to Pitt, I guess. Or when we needed a defensive stand to beat Texas A&M or a come back to beat a trash Syracuse team. How about we wait until this team Is actually tested before we #### on their grave?

Lol. You’re a literal idiot. I know full well you were talking about attitude and that attitude meant exactly jack #### against Pittsburgh. You really thought you had some deep point but it took minor observational skills to realize how full of it you were. Sorry I burst your delusional bubble. I can see why that would cause you to lash out.

The team is 3-0 with the offense scoring enough points to win in most situations. The secondary was suspect last night. I am waiting to after the NC State game to have a stronger opinion. If the defense does like Dabo has challenged them, this team will win it all.

My concern against LaTech is that we go into the run the clock out mode much to soon. That’s been a concern of mine for some time. So far it hasn’t cost us a win buts it’s scary to say the least. Dabo don’t want to run up the score but if the other team keeps tryin to score we should also

I saw a significantly southern run defense. 25 yards total is strong no matter who you play.
Short pass defense and tackling after the catch were better. Catches down the seam were worse. Cornerback coverage was not good.
I think we beat Wake by 10 - 14. I am hopeful that playing a more conventional offense will help our defense. By "conventional" I mean not so many quick throws to keep our DLine from gettIng to the QB. And with the DLine and secondary back to 100%, I don't think they will cash in a lot. Meanwhile I think DJ continues to improve and the OLine continues to gel into a unit.

If an opposing coach tries to play a more conventional offense after these first three games, he should be fired immediately.

But they only ran it once or twice, so there is that. We can’t tackle, but that’s a problem across the board in college football, imo. Players want to make the highlight reel hit, but most times just end up looking foolish as they lay on the ground after getting run over.
There’s nothing wrong with this team on either side of the ball that proper coaching can’t fix. Let’s just hope that we have that.

Saw the change in the second half against La. Tech. Wake spread opened at 7.5. I expect Clemson to win by 10 points or more.

I feel like Wake’s style of play isn’t effective against the level of athletes that we have. So I’m confident that we win that game.
However, the way the team is currently playing, I don’t see us making the playoffs.

I can't say Dabo calling the team out during the week had much impact but whatever message he gave the team at half time, was clear and understood.
