The transition to today's Clemson is always a fascinating story.
Clemson's approaches to hiring coachestbose days were suspect. Tommy coming to Clemson was big news for CU fans and a surprise. His 11-0 season, though in Tulane, was eye opening. Years of solid wins followed by mind boggling losses rankled everyone. Nevertheless we started beating FSU every alternate year. So tiger fans knew they had it in them. The question then was - so what? and what is next?
Dabo's retention was not big news and in fact deemed a regression and a fall back to Tommy West days of comfort hires.
an then here we are. ..
Dabo is good and really good. But no one can/should stake the claim of being a visionary in his hiring. It was still a comfort hire. ans turned out to be the Powerball

There is and will always be that when you get something that you've never had, that you learn after you get it how good or bad that it is. With Dabo becoming HC at Clemson, we didn't know what kind of HC that he would be bc he had never been a HC. But his plans for Clemson was what we all wanted, and there was some that didn't believe that Dabo was the right person with Clemson being his first ever try at being a HC. What I do know, is that Dabo was an unknown that Tiger Nation is really happy that he got a chance to prove what an awesome HC he has turned out to be. He is like a one owner, and Clemson is lucky that we were the first to give him a try, and I hope that we will be the only ones to have had him on our side!!!

Yep - CJ is one of the best all around - in and out of football - ever !! Certainly had a huge impact on Clemson football !! -">

Many of us Clemson fans were begging our leaders(Terry Don) to hire Dabo because we knew he was a leader an a great position coach. I was so happy when Dabo was hired. He has surpassed what we all thought was possible at Clemson and totally changed the culture for the better. Faith is the perfect word along with believing all things are possible with God.

Absolutely, I know that I was OK with him getting a shot as HC. Before he had been hired as HC, I read everything that I could find said or written about Dabo, and most of it was how how intelligent he was, and what a hard worker he was, and smart and willing to give his all was good enough for me!!!
