Coach Brownell and Mickey this morning....

I jumped in the car this morning to head to work and caught the tail end of Coach Brownell talking on Mickey's show. When i first was listening, i thought they were just having a normal call-in interview with him, but after listening further, i realized that Coach B called in and was defending his players and the program.
First of all, let me say, i think its awesome that he would call in and do this. Some may say he should worry about other things, but i think its great that he would call in and support his players on a public forum such as the radio. I think it shows he really loves his players and this program and will defend them at any means neccesary.
Did anybody else catch the whole thing? what exactly was mickey/qualk saying? What was it that led brownell to calling in and at the beginning was he angry with Mickey? any info would be good, thanks!

Mickey had said that the team seemed like it was "just ready for the season to be over" both last season and again this year. Coach Brownell took exception to that.

we lost to UNC... we were without KJ.... we were already missing 2 important players for the season.... UNC knocked down mid range jumpers and 3pters all game... they were the better team... what do people want???

Maybe a little effort? Maybe actually throwing a freaking hand in the face of these jump shooters, that you mentioned.
I didn't hear what Mickey said, but I think it's an absolutely fair assessment to make based on what everyone saw last night. I don't know how you couldn't think that to be honest.

I'm not sure anymore. I think the bulk of Clemson fans have a casual approach to the basketball program and really only keep track of wins and losses without paying much attention to the actual product on the court.
If we aren't winning they either a.) dont' care or b.) get all butt hurt and want the coach fired. I just hope the current staff is given adequate time to build their program before we pass judgment.

I don't think CBB was angry with Mickey this morning, he was defending his team like anyone would have. Mickey stated that last year and some what this year, it is appearing that the team is giving up. CBB stated that that was the farthest thing from the truth. Mickey disagreed with not going to the CBI last year. CBB said going to the CBI last year and even this yr may not be in the best interest of the program from a cost and loss of individual training time standpoint.
CBB gained some cool points with me after hearing him, even though i don't agree with his coaching philosophy. I think he's a good guy and i wouldn't mind playing for him, but being a good guy doesn't always translate to winning in sports. Hopefully he can get some shooters and decent sized athletes in the program because Purnell showed everyone you can win here and i think he can do it.
