I know the offense sputtered in the 2nd half against Miami, but what if the defense had not allowed an 80-yard run for a touchdown? Was it Klubnics fault that Ship fumbled going into the endzone?

field well or that’s he’s not panicking in the pocket, then you need to look in the mirror for the idiot.
WRs aren’t Tee Higgins or Mike Williams, but they are getting open. Not to say we can’t improve in that area, but the QB is the constraining issue. It doesn’t matter if there are five Jerry Rices out there if the QB can’t see them or panics too soon to wait on them.

I love this argument that wrs are open all over the field bc usually the play they are referring to is one where the defense has a free runner at Cade and he's being forced to move away from the open guy.
Also how many times has this kid hit a wr in the hands for it to get dropped or popped up to a defender?

Cade has 10 starts now. He is going to get better if he doesn't he will get benched. I'm rooting for the guy. He has the fire that winners have. Football is a team sport and Cade will continue to improve. The guys around him will as well. Patience is what it takes.

It was his fault to pull the ball back on the called run to Shippley in OT, that was inexcusable.

If CK2 is within striking distance of that next year (which very well could happen if we do well enough to reach the playoffs), he's probably heading to the NFL because he's living up to his potential.
Hard to believe right now but we could legit see that kind of jump next year (optimism)

It's a real possibility once there is some true threats on the boundary. .ight not look that way game 1 next year as you know Dabo will give Randall, Turner, and Collins the benefit of the doubt while Moore and Wesco adjust to the next level. By game 5 though my money is they are taking alot of snaps and the offense is alot different. Heck if those 2 are what they appear to be things will open up even more for Brown and Williams.

Better team around him and a much better OL. Also playcalling was designed to limit how often he put the ball in the air, Streeter really was not the issue as a playcaller, as the QB coach now that one I'd buy. Also I obviously the fumbling is a big issue this year too.
Dj had 14 games as a starter at Clemson where he threw for over 200 yards and in his career imcluding Oregon St 3 games over 300 yards. They did not trust him and the wrs while he was at Clemson.
Cade has the same amount of games over 300 yards already and they put the ball in his hands far more often. The lack of a boundary wr and time to throw hurts.

Discussions about Cade and/or DJ's respective strengths and weaknesses are fine, but reducing it to W/L record, when there's always 10 other players on the field with them, not to mention 11 more in each of the other phases, is a blinkered approach. Let's not forget 2021 when the D bailed us out of a bunch of close calls b/c the offense didn't have a pulse. Ya can't just mindless chalk those all up to "DJ winning it for us."
Again, this doesn't presume anything about who the better QB is or will end up being at all. But reducing it to overall W/L record isn't justifiable.

We might as well point out all the star qb's in the NFL that played for teams that did not win much of anything. Brett Farve played for Southern Miss. They went 6-5 in his first season. had a great second season with a 10-2 record, then they went 8-4 and in his last season they went 5-6. According your thoughts Brett Favre should have been benched
