I started out neat but ended up mixing it with a lemon aide type drink. I was mowing grass and it was all I had.

Very Old Barton 100 proof is a decent cheap bourbon that is drinkable neat, if that is what you're looking for. It's about $13 for a 750 ml. It's worth a try if you haven't already. Worst case, it's a decent mixer.

I bought a handle of very old Barton. The dust in the bottle should have been a clue. I bought it as mixer bourbon. I mixed me and my buddy an old fashioned and he almost spit it out. It was absolutely undrinkable. Immediately poured it into the sink!
A pretty good daily drinker is four roses small batch. I found it for $36 at the store at the corner of Keowee school road and Ebenezer.

At Costco. 1.75 liter is like $40
You won't beat the quality / cost ratio anywhere else. And you won't feel guilty mixing it.

It's funny how availability can vary from state to state for some brands. There is so much available in other states that can't be found in Virginia, but Old Grandad 114 sits on the shelves.

Benchmark needs coke or pepsi. It is the well brand (not small batch) at a lot of restaurants. I wouldn't expect a big change in the small batch from the well.

Oh, and mixing with lemonade drink??? What? Ice tea would be better. Ginger beer would make it drinkable, ginger ale, coke, pepsi, tolerable.

I normally drink it neat but couldn't take it so the lemon drink was all I had. It's fun trying different ones. Hearing from others what they like and dislike.

Except for my friend who didn't have a sober father in like never.
My wife and 88 will drink every blue moon and I dont know what conversation is worse during that time!
88 will talk to me about anything which is actually hilarious if you knew him while he never drank for the 25 plus years of children in the house. Solid father right there!
The wife (and no pigs for u cause there aren't any for me) will drink a mixed, usually Madori, and turn into a the sweetest wife in the world!
I just smoke rock and watch. Its cool because I'm usually just doing it at the house. Dont want to get in trouble!!!
