That's the expectation Dabo set when he was winning, so why is it not ok to refer back to it when we're losing?
After several years of trending downward (we can all admit something hasn't been quite right for quite awhile), we are seeing more and more cases where best doesn't appear to be the standard amongst the coaching ranks.
Dabo ranting about appreciating the past is ludicrous. We ALL appreciate what he's done for the program (and subsequently the non-revenue sports as well) by winning. We appreciate the recruiting it brought us, the facilities that come with, the praises from the talking heads and a level of relevancy many haven't seen before. Dabo's impact and accolades are unquestionable.
The only thing we dont really appreciate are the rising ticket prices and increased requirement in donations just to "maintain" equity. LOL
It's because we care and appreciate, that we worry about what's happening within the program. We're not getting any good answers and haven't seen anything that really shows we'll get the ship turned around and back on track...so yes, we worry. We worry that Best is not the Standard anymore.
There have been a lot of teams that "were great" at one point in time....some have gone through a lengthy reset of non-relevance to start getting back in the conversation and I think we all just fear that's where we're headed.... It's too early to be looking back at and longing for the success we used to have, there's still more in the tank!
In general, I like Dabo...as a man, a leader, a coach. He's good for Clemson and our players....but something isn't quite right and I'm just hoping that whatever is going on (with him or his coaches) is corrected soon so we can get back to the fun in the winning.

The concept is that each and every one involved in our football program do their best. If you want to call that 110% then I'd agree.

Here we go again with someone that doesn't listen. Dabo started Best is the standard pretty much when he took over as head coach. It does NOT mean we will always be the best. It is for his team. Meaning that you give your best in all you do. Why do people always convolute the meaning?

So you're telling me based on what you've seen that you think that everyone is giving their best?
I dont.
Players, probably.
I think Dabo is running himself ragged trying to figure out how to fix things, but something is definitely amuck either in the coaching staff or between some coaches/players. The decision making, lack of adjustments and growth in some cases suggest that everyone is not quite at their best.

This is a quote from Dabo. Sometimes people may take that the wrong way. You don't see win national championships up there. That's not our goal. Our goal is to be the best we can be,” Swinney said. “We want to be our best. Whatever God gave you, be the best you can possibly be. That applies in every area whether it's the best coach you can be, the best player, whatever.

Well, I hope that Dabo has not been at his best this week. If that is his best, our program is in sorry shape.
