Clemson's jet sweep: The run that is a pass
The play is one that Clemson fans have grown accustomed to. Quarterback Deshaun Watson stands in the shotgun formation and barks a signal as a wide receiver comes in motion. Watson calls for the snap just before the receiver gets to him and the crowd crackles with anticipation. It's the famous jet sweep. Full Story » |

Didn't the coots have a "hand" in one of those TD's?

to run this play....McCloud and Rogers.
------------------------------------------------------------------
1 play I use to love during the Danny Ford days, and I think I've seen the current Tigers run it 1 time.... QB and RB option to one side, while a WR reverses back the opposite direction. Instead of the pitch going to the back, or a QB keep. The ball is pitched to the Wide out. While the Defense pursues to the original direction.
Love that play!!

That same play probably won't ever work against Steele again. But maybe we should work on one with two receivers coming from opposite sides with one making a double stutter step and allow the center to quick snap the ball as soon as the one receiver passes by, and DW4 giving it to the stutter step receiver. Call it the stutter sweep.

I may be wrong, but I dont think you can have 2 people moving at the snap without one becoming set first

It's almost a shame Watson is so valuable because (particularly against Steele) that play set could really spring DW on naked bootlegs.
