Does anyone else besides me despise the new mustache trend that our baseball team has seemingly embraced? When did this become a thing? Seems like something like this was tried last year. I only say this as an ex military man who hates facial hair, and I don't discriminate beards are a no go as well!! lol.

Mustache March
Mustache March is an annual event occurring in the month of March, where members in the United States Air Force grow mustaches to honor Air Force legend Robin Olds. As the name implies, it starts on the 1st of March and any participant who starts in the month of February is disqualified. The idea stems from an early Air Force tradition in which members of the U.S. Air Force would grow mustaches in good-natured protest against facial hair regulations during the month of March. The act of growing a mustache as a gesture of defiance against dogmatic leadership is attributed to U.S. Air Force triple-ace Robin Olds who grew an extravagantly waxed handlebar mustache which did not comply with U.S. Air Force regulations.

Well of course it was the Air Force!! I did not realize that is was where it came from. Good to know. I can appreciate the sentiment, but they still need to shave that crap though!

Most of us embraced facial hair. Couldn't wait for the next Z-Gram to come out and let us know what we could grow. I was in from the early 70's thru the 90's and saw about all, from clean shaved to hitler stach to full grizzly.......fun times

Well Cr, I now understand and will appreciate the sentiment. Glad someone posted it. That said, I hope coach shaves in April. I was thinking the same thing. My objection was last night I was haunted by ghosts thinking it was Monte in the dug.
What a great game though. Wasn't the 9-2 that I predicted but a W either way. A couple good hit balls were a bit unlucky they didn't make it as homeruns.
