While we are just stuck in neutral, don’t get me wrong I know we’ve got talent and very good talent coming in. Just seems like every team is adding pieces everyday and we aren’t.

Worded completely wrong should’ve put reports of trying to add/offering. Couple hours after Mukuba announced he posted an offer from Oregon, Miamis been flipping people for a couple days, ND has added one WR and hosted a couple of more, OSU is in negotiations with Cam Ward, Washington is adding Will Rogers. It’s really just being impatient seeing every teams reporters posting tid bits but Clemson reporters.

We are pretty deliberate when we evaluate HS talent and limit our offers. I wouldn't expect the stance to be much different with the portal. I'm sure we are still evaluating our numbers and how many slots we think we will have. I certainly don't expect a big influx but maybe 3-4 if we can get the right guys to come.

i dont feel like that, we got a good class coming in, and we aint done yet...gotta be patient...now, i will say, as much as i love cade,and as much as i hope he develops fast, i do wish we had another big recruit qb..

Just because teams take players from the portal does not automatically mean that team is better. Kid could go from not playing on one team to not playing on another. Look at the tigers that left the team, the majority are not making major impacts on their new teams.
Is the portal useful? sure, but just because you use it doesn't mean you're better

No doubt about that, portal doesn’t automatically mean better. Now coaching got tremendously better Monday that’s undeniable.

Yep. Some teams improve dramatically (FSU, Louisville, Georgia Tech, NC State,). Some don't (UNC, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, VaTech). Others don't care to use it. This is just the ACC.

The only time I think the portal REALLY hurts a team is when tampering is going on. Most of the guys who transfer out weren’t making an impact, or got passed by a younger player with more talent and competitiveness.
On the other hand, when a major contributor transfers out like Mukuba…. It stings a little. Having said that, Khalil Barnes is Honey Badger 2.0, and I’ve had high hopes for Sherrod Covill since watching his film during his recruitment. I think we will be fine, as long as we have the right coaches. Looks like Dabo is fixing the coaching part.

Potentially yes. However, we can see how more schools are putting money into getting transfer portal talent, especially at QB and WR. I do not see Clemson spending a $1M on any transfer portal talent. So we may get mixed results in the short run. Everyone will lose players, but can we replace them fast enough?

No, not really seeing any teams get better than what they had leave. I like what we got, but I am also realistic that we can't compete with some teams NIL wise in regards to the portal until we can get out of the ACC. That is just the way it is unfortunately for now. Changes are coming though. Clemson will be just fine in the long run........ I think! I hope...well, maybe.
