I know. It's as if shunning players who left the team
Jul 31, 2016, 2:37 PM

is some kind of punishment for them, and in some way a badge of honor for those doing the shunning which proves true fandom. It's a "He's either fer us, or agin' us!" mentality, and I don't get it.

Agreed. I always like to hear what has happened to former Tigers. What's the problem?

That are in the nfl, graduated, may be left on good terms or had to leave for health reasons. Not players that didn't like it, weren't team players or were kicked off. Its no big deal to me what the reason folks either do or don't want to see it. Its just a matter of opinion.

same with Chad Kelly and Jimbo Fisher. They have all worn the uniform and sat in university classrooms as a student at one time in their lives, even if their experience was incomplete or unsatisfying.

Yes, Bill Wilhelm recruited Jimbo to play baseball.

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it. _____
Fisher, 50, left his father, a West Virginia coal miner, and mother, a high school chemistry teacher, to enroll at Clemson. He planned to play baseball for the late Bill Wilhelm but returned to West Virginia after one semester. He was a standout quarterback at Salem College and never left football.
“Life happens,” Fisher told The Post and Courier. “It was a great time; I enjoyed my time at Clemson. It’s a great school. Fun. I was a small-town country boy, never been away from home, had a lot of work to do and practice. I left and it turned out pretty good. It was a great experience.”
Who knows? With Fisher at Clemson maybe Swinney, with ties to the Bowden family dating to his playing days at Alabama, ends up working for Bobby Bowden at Florida State.

Actually, they ARE using it correctly. Here is the official definition: An alumnus (/??l?mn?s/; masculine, plural alumni /??l?mna?/) or an alumna (/??l?mn?/; feminine, plural alumnae /??l?mni?/) is a former student or pupil of a school, college, or university.[1] Commonly, but not always, the word refers to a graduate of the educational institute in question.[2] An alumnus can also be a former member, employee, contributor, or inmate, as well as a former student.[2][3] So, unfortunately they are alumni. Even if we deem them unworthy!

Technically speaking. I still consider an alum to be a graduate.
Other players are "former players"

Dang - we need a new word for Alumni that actually graduated from CLEMSON.
This revelation begs the question: If you just attend a few classes at CLEMSON, can you be in the ALUMNI Club? I have the confused.
I'm adding an addendum to my window decal: CLEMSON UNIVERSITY ALUMNI - GRADUATE

I know a fraternity brother of mine who was at Clemson for 6 years, yes 6 years, and came up a math class short of graduating. That dude is kind of a legend and definitely an alum. I think it depends on the situation. I don't consider Priester an alum. His heart was never there.

I agree that this may not be a story for this board. I am sad that he is having issues, and truthfully, I am sad he had to leave (or chose to leave) Clemson. He could do no better than Clemson, for a lot of reasons, but I want no young man to fail. I hope he gets his life in order and has a great career, both on and off the field, wherever he lands.

I could give a rat's #### less about hearing from those who leave on bad terms or asked to leave for any number of ancillary reasons, other than to confirm they are obviously continuing their "losing" ways........obviously not realizing what an opportunity they had on the first place. Only hope is that they mature and finally figure it out.....just saying. ??
