During his career at Texas someone cut his legs out from under him and shortened his playing career. He then went into coaching!

Are you saying a coach needs to have played? Some of the best coaches ever never played ball (or never saw the field).
Lou Holtz, Urban Meyer, Andy Reid (was on the scout team in college but only so his best friend would go to the team), David Cutliffe (yet was maybe the best QB coach ever), Mike Leach, Mike Tomlin, Jon Gruden, Todd Haley (one of the best offensive coordinators ever). Even Belichick never dressed out for a college game.

Not necessarily saying that. But he clearly doesn’t know what’s going on. Most coaches played football. So that’s where I was connecting the dots. Not saying people who never played can’t coach

Lou Holtz played linebacker at Kent State.
Urban Meyer played defensive back and placeholder at Cincinnati, and he was also drafted by the Braves in the 13th round of the 1982 MLB draft.
David Cutcliffe played football in high school.
Mike Leach played QB in high school and was recruited to BYU, but an injury kept him from playing college football. He ended up playing rugby instead.
I'm not going to bother going through the rest of your list because the game is on, but you get the idea.

No No and NO, and he don't have very much of a coaching career either. The most hands on coaching he has has been at Clemson, so there you go, that is what Dabo hired as our DC, a guy with no hands on coaching experience, and even less coaching experience at the college level before he was appointed to be our DC....
