ACC Coastal Scenarios.....

Check out these scenarios.... While it looks like UVA has the inside track, they have lost a zillion in a row to Va. Tech, so they have to break that curse somehow. If they win and finish 6-2, they are in...simple as that. But if they don't......
Let's say:
UVA loses to VT to finish 5-3 VT loses to Pitt, but beats GT & UVA to finish 5-3 Pitt loses to UNC, but beats VT & BC to finish 5-3 UNC beats Pitt and NCSU to finish 5-3 Miami beats Duke to finish 5-3
Five way tie.... then it goes to records against each other
UVA would be 2-2 VT would be 3-1 Pitt would be 1-3 UNC would be 2-2 Miami would be 2-2
In that scenario, VT wins.
Here's another one:
UVA loses to VT to finish 5-3 VT beats PItt & UVA, but loses to GT to finish 5-3 Pitt loses to VT, but beats UNC & BC to finish 5-3 Miami beats Duke to finish 5-3
In this scenario, UVA is 1-2, VT is 3-0, Pitt is 0-3, Miami is 2-1....VT wins again.
How about this random one:
UVA loses to VT to finish 5-3 VT beats GT & UVA, but loses to Pitt to finish 5-3 Duke wins out, beating Cuse, Wake & Miami to finish 5-3 Pitt loses to UNC and BC, but UNC loses to NCSU and they finish 4-4
Duke, UVA and VT are all 1-1 against each other. But it goes to division record, UVA and VT tie again, and then VT gets it.
There are other scenarios....the five way tie is crazy, but not unthinkable. VT looks to have the upper hand in several multi-tiebreaker scenarios, as they would have defeated UVA, Miami, and UNC. But VT could also do something like drop the next two games (at GT, Pitt) to get to 4 losses....and then beat UVA, and then Miami finishes 5-3 with UVA and Miami ends up in the ACCCG.
All that said, I think this is UVA's year and they get it done with 6-2, a win over VT, a 9-3 overall record and will be a ranked, respectable opponent for Clemson. But if they don't....it could be all sorts of chaos.

It’s like a tournament to see who’s going to be fed to the Tigers.

Then Miami is lurking in the shadows.
Wait till someone has to figure out which bowls these teams are going to.

it's important to note that........ Once a team is eliminated from the tie, the tie-breaker procedures restart for the remaining teams.

I was just going to ask - who is mathematically eliminated? GT I'm pretty sure...but are Duke or UNC eliminated yet?

Since UVA beat both of them...

I don’t think there are many scenarios where they get in at 5-3. I suppose if you get VT out of the multi-tie scenario, that could open the door, particularly for UNC if Miami is also there. But I don’t know the math of all that...we need some kind of scenario generator for this.
I suppose the Pitt-UNC game could clarify a couple of things this week.

I think only GT is eliminated. Duke kinda is gone, since UVA is now at 5 wins and owns the tiebreaker as 5 wins is Duke ceiling. Miami is on the outside looking out. Miami needs to beat Duke, UVA to lose out and have both VT and UNC to go no better than 4 wins.
Both VT and Pitt are 3-2 so who knows. VT can win out and claim it. Pitt win out needs UVA to loss.
Finally, UNC is kinda in the lost woods. I don't think they can win it since UVA owns the tie breaker but they could be in some bazzaro tiebreaker if everyone finishes 5-3... but I just do not know the voodoo of winning against Pitt but losing to VT and UVA (and maybe another 5-3 team).
