About time......

this summer I posted something about us needing more big and nasty OL, dogs if you will. Got blown up by a couple of Tnetters for posting such drivel, etc etc. Well now, it seems that many of yall see what I was alluding to. Football is a violent, passionate game and to be uber successful, you have to some personnel who are violent and passionate - on the field. They are your DOGS and losing is just not acceptable.
Not saying, we need to be UGA and have half the team arrested every year BUT, unless we want to go back to Tommy Bowden years, we best find some of them and quickly to infuse in this culture. We've done it before so we know it works. Also, let's stop with the lake time, etc. As Dabo as said over and over, the fun is in the WINNING and BEST is the standard. Unless all that was just brand building BS, let's get back to what got us to the mountaintop.

Players are coddled today like you wouldn't believe. "Lake time" is just the tip of the iceberg. It's like Cub Scout camp over there any more. Vegetarians and yoga instructors running loose in the building daily. Very difficult to have dudes who are "mean & nasty" while being coddled. Does not compute!

So do you think that Clemson is somehow different?

That we are offering amenities and perks and entertainments that other big programs are not? Do you believe UGA and Bama and OSU are playing in dirt lots, in sheet metal facilities, with regular food and are just doing ‘meaner’ work than Clemson?

I never said that we shouldnt have those things but I went to Duke Monday night and we lost by 3 TDs to a program with a 2/3 full high school stadium so I guess anything is possible right?
All those ultra successful programs have the bells and whistles and that's great although with NIL, I doubt seriously the upper tier 4 and 5 stars are too concerned about a pool table and a yoga instructor, as long as the NIL payment and the new Dodge Charger are delivered on time.
We should definitely continue with whatever perks that they need to compete including as much NIL as possible but, unless we either recruit those players with that dog or, more likely, DEVELOP that we will return to the TB days. We know what it takes. We've had the Boulewares, the Skalskis, the Wilkins, the Booths, the Watson, the Watkins, the Mike Williams. All players with an edge and attitude, maybe not the model citizens always but players who had spirit and didnt accept losing.

We offer all the same things except for breaking laws, I guess that has to be an option now.
Did you see across the scroll line during our game now when a player or football employee is arrested at Georgia for speeding it is called a Moving Violation. Basically dumbing down the fact they broke laws to make it seemingly okay for it to occur.
