and ACC Championship going 12-1. Say Aub finishes 10-2 with a win over UGA (loses to Bama but finishes with a top 5 or 6 ranking), do we get in the playoffs over NCSU (a la tOSU style last year) even without a conference championship because of our overall body of work?

Under your scenario, NC State (with a 12-1 record) would be ranked higher than us. It was Penn State's 2 losses that kept them out last year.

Agreed. I have a suspicion that the Tigers are going to lay some freaking wood in that game. NCSU took it to us physically last year and the Tigers will not be outdone in this department this year.

state will lose before they play clemson. would not be shocked if they lose on the road to pitt, and very likely will lose to the irish the weekend after. and they could lose to wake. just to be clear
