3rd missed targeting call:

I have watched this play so many times and never noticed it because i always watched Renfrow the whole time but if you focus on the DB's helmet and watch it you can see its textbook targeting. Launches up into the head. I honestly think because they never get called for it they have no regard for the penalty whatsoever. What if he's there a second sooner, Renfrow fumbles out of endzone. Bama's ball with 1 second on the clock. The only reason I'm fussing is Stephone Anthony, Ben Boulware (twice), Dorian O'Daniel. Plus they could've cost Mike Williams and Deshaun a lot of money!

This exactly. Everyone got caught up in that helicopter but replay shows Foster not only launched, but the crown of his helmet nailed Watson right in the face. His arms were by his sides. He didn't even attempt to wrap up. That could not have only ended Watson's night, but sent him to the hospital.
I was livid because that was the 2nd one Foster got away with. I'm ecstatic with the win, but one would hope the NCAA could at least review that stuff after the fact and discipline the officials.

A fumble would mean he had possession?

If he caught it in the endzone and fumbled, wouldn't it be a TD? TD or incomplete?

Not so much targeting, but maybe a PF. Renfrow had caught the ball, taken 4/5 steps. The call should have been a catch, possession, TD ,play over before Renfrow was hit.

You're exactly right. I saw that Tuesday night as I watched the game again on my Tivo. The Alabama DB clearly launched himself & lead with his head & struck with the crown of his helmet at or above the shoulders. Textbook targeting according to the new change in the rule. That was definitely a third targeting penalty that wasn't called on the Alabama defense.
