It's Friday and I'm so ready for the weekend. Work has been

Jun 11, 2021, 2:02 PM

been busy but kind of boring today. I don't have on orange but my gray T-shirt has Clemson and an orange Tiger Paw on it. Does that count.

I'm guess you can say I'm gheying it up today. Listening to Queen and Elton John right now. Just something different.

Wishing you all and your families a great and wonderful weekend.

Go Tigers!!!

Thanks. It was a busy week for me as well, but I took today off. It's rainy here, and a good day to just relax and enjoy the conversation on Tnet. Have a fantastic weekend.

Thanks MyGheyO!

I worked hard this week.
I have no job, some days wonder how I ever found time for one.
To be honest, for me a weekend is not much different from other days except for more girls showing on the lake.

Grilled a small standing rib roast yesterday MFO. Takes a while but well worth it.

I kept up a nice lawn for decades.
When I was able to move back to SC, built a place with no grass to mow.I don't own a lawn mower.
Don't get me wrong, I love a nice lawn. I enjoy looking at those of my neighbors.

Working from home ...

Jun 11, 2021, 3:44 PM

... like I have been for almost a year.

Completed some tasks and reached a couple of milestones today ... might have to stop for the week soon and go for a swim in the saltwater pool. <img border=">

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

I hope MyfavOrangeJr is with you this weekend. For those who have never my Jr. he is a great
kid. He is polite, well mannered and it is a privilege to help add to his own Clemson / Sports man cave. He loves Clemson. MyfavOrange is doing a great job as a single Dad.

I will say it again , I wish we were neighbors. We would keep the grill smoking all the time.

Have a great weekend my friend!

Do you want to break free? I will always remember one

Jun 11, 2021, 11:08 PM

Queen song in particular. My chemical plant was unionized, and in 1993 the local union conned the wage roll workers into going on strike. They stayed out for two months, and then came back for essentially the same wage package they had turned down at the start of the strike. So, the union cost them most of two months wages, hooray for them.

I, and other salaried workers, kept the plant's processes running during those two months. Whenever I would cross the picket line each day, I always made sure that the Queen song "The Show Must Go On" was blaring from my car stereo. (We had a solid police presence onsite to ensure no physical stupidity occurred from picketing workers.)

I am sure others will have differing opinions, but in my experience, in modern times, all the union was good for was helping deadbeats who deserved to be fired, keep their job and do substandard work a while longer. :(

Not big on Union’s either 76er especially in today’s competitive market. In fact I will goes as far as saying Union’s are the reason the Japanese took over the car market. And the song you played while going through your plant’s picket line was great!.

My Dad use to tell me about strikes when he was in management. There was one guy that was always filing grievances against my Dad then would invite us over to his house for cookouts. Union’s and de- regulations put a lot of regional trucking companies out of business.

I was real close to a deal to sell my company by the end of July, but it fell through yesterday when the guy couldn't get his loan. I'm only 59, but it would have been nice to live the life of leisure. I guess 4 day work weeks and a good salary will just have to continue for a while longer.
Hmmm... I may drive up to Tigertown today to walk around and maybe have a beer or 3 before I come back to Lexington.
