This man that was given the opportunity to hire his own personal at penn st achieved a top 10 D and was considered an amazing hire, which he is. Now Dabo hires him and expects him to turn the 2024 D around while using all the same coaches that were with mr pork. Please explain.....ill wait

And don’t worry Skippy, there will be some changes.
But for now we just won two big games in a row and have a chance to salvage the season where many expected us to lose the last two games, in a big way in each game. I bet you’re one of those guys.

It’s weird that you believe this because the first 3 defensive assistants at Penn State have been there from 3 to 5 years. All predating Allen’s one season. I’ve tried to tell people this is a completely made up narrative to get Clemson fans to talk #### about their coach while also looking stupid. Congrats - you did it.

Tom Allen, DC replacing Manny Diaz
Justin Lustig, who replaced Stacy Collins[returned to Boise St.]

Our defense gives up 19 points on the day, while this board is full of tons of posts like "this is our worst defense ever!" and so on.
Even last week, when we held the top rated offense in the nation to a grand total of 10 points, it was nothing but "our defense is trash!", "Allen sucks!” etc. The hyperbole by many on this board is next level.

I felt the same as you originally but David Hood confirmed on one of the podcast episodes that coordinators don't typically get to bring their own guys in since you could see a lot of those brought follow that coach when they leave.
BV didn't get to bring in his own dudes either and worked with what he inherited.
Either way, it's been a frustrating year but idk how folks think Allen is getting fired after one year. He's not exempt from the defensive struggles either but seems like a combination of things that's making it hard for the D to stay consistent.

Do you watch the games? I see a soft defense that has been given quite a few gifts the last few weeks.
I do not like his defense or calls. Not aggressive enough or well coached for my taste. Last week for example on 3rd and long we had all of the DBs at the line to gain and everyone else rushing the QB. Guess what happened an 8 yard pass to put them in position to get a first down because the middle was wide freaking open. Guess what! FSU got a first down.
He is Vic Koenning reincarnated. I do not need to see any more. Some times you win in spite of the coaches.
