an impact hit like that when you come through untouched. Poorly executed play on Michigan's part. Not saying Clownface doesn't fight off blocks and even double-teams quite often but on this particular play it's a result of someone else's poor play and not so much him beating a block. Just can't understand why they make it seem like this is one of his better plays. Show me him beating a double-team and making a hit like that. A play of that nature would be more impressive.

If you have watched the replay you would see what Gruden was saying, "I have never seen a defensive end get in the backfield so fast, and then he scooped up the ball with his left hand." Quit trying to downplay an incredible play by a great player. Clowney has lived up to the hype....ask Boyd after his 4.5 sacks...he was also hurt for most games and sat out one and still had 13.5 sacks for the season. Makes you look stupid to belittle him..

He DOES live up to the hype. He IS as advertised. I am just saying that particular play IMO was NOT one of his best because he did NOT beat off a block or double-team to make it. He instead made it untouched. Next time please read what I say before responding. Thanks.

had a tackle, recovery, and a touchdown all on 1 play and I don't think his play ran as long on ESPN as this one has. Go Tigers !!!

And he fought off blockers to do it. Fridge had many, many wonderful plays, and he was double teamed every play. Clowney is a great player, in fact, a very gifted athlete, and his play was outstanding all season, but it's not like he is the only great player making great plays in the season. It didn't hurt his performance on that play to be untouched by a Michigan blocker.

I don't know about reading, but that sonofagun sure knows his numbers. I really got tired of seeing him on top of our #10 all night long. Gee, ya think Chad can figure out an effective blocking scheme against him by next year?

When Fridge Aand those guys were playing there was no media glut that there is now. That was not a knock on them, it was just not there. They made great plays too but to belittle Clowney because of that is weak and silly. The guy is a great player. This talk about him being dumb is stupid and petty also. I have seen him interviewed and he comes off fine and he is not a braggard per say. He is always smiling and laughing.

While the road to making a game changing play wasn't that spectacular, the end result was. For a 6"6 260 lb DE to stay low with the same center of gravity as a 5"8 RB and hit with so much force off the snap IS impressive. Not only that, he caused a fumble, and recovered it while laying over his pray.
