Got my Orange on today and was asked by a coot coworker

Sep 25, 2012, 12:06 PM

wasn't I embarrassed to wear it??....My reply!!!

Ummm NO!! We lost to the #4 team in the country. We had a 2 touchdown lead in the 3rd quarter when our Talent level and depth caught up to our D. All that aside we played a good opponent in which no one but Clemson fans thought we would win and we gave them all they wanted. I don't like or take moral victories and I fully expect to win out and that includes whipping your sorry arses in November!!

You can try explain it to them....

Sep 25, 2012, 12:12 PM

but they'll never ever understand it.

I wore Orange the day after the WVU game and my buddies

Sep 25, 2012, 12:17 PM

(none of them ore CU or USuCk fans) gave me a standing ovation when I walked into the after work establishment. It's really just the coots that don't get it.

We can give up 650 yards 11 games in a row, and when I go to

Sep 25, 2012, 12:23 PM

the office my diploma still says Clemson University. Dabo Swinney can neither add to nor detract from what that means, and Steve Spurrier's mercenary success, or lack of it, can neither add to nor detract from what it means, and people who couldn't get in can try to create a new reality by asking me about my orange all they want.

The fact is, I have a Clemson diploma and they don't. And if anyone asks me about my orange that is all they are going to hear. Bring it on.

...and that diploma means no more in the long run than a diploma from the other state university in SC. Neither school has the name recognition academically to get special employment consideration, unless your potential boss is a grad. That is just a fact.

coot's just being honest,

Try to find a coot shirt after any loss! Its the way they operate.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Heck after the Vandy game where a ref saved them....

Sep 25, 2012, 1:18 PM

from a likely loss, there was nary a Coot flag or shirt to be seen anywhere and that was after a game they won.

I wear orange everyday, don't care what anyone says.

Sep 25, 2012, 12:38 PM

I just assume all Clemson fans will wear orange win or lose. I really don't understand the big deal about wearing it after a lose.

You have to understand that the coots are a completely

Sep 25, 2012, 12:51 PM

different culture. When they lose they take the flags they have been flying all year down and all of the coot clothes go into storage or to United Way. I, unfortunately, work in Cootlumbia and this week I have seen several Clemson flags flying and still see many coot flags daily. Most coot fans only have flags and don't display permanent stickers. I have tiger paws, alumni stickers, a CU license plate and alumni front tag. The coots don't have these. They use flags so they can vanish when they lose. It has always been that way.
