Hold The F On!! Will this happen!?

Monroe (N.C.) four-star safety Jordan Young committed to Clemson just 25 days ago on Nov. 2. While it was the Tigers that won out for his pledge initially, it’s Michigan that’s now trending to sign the 6-foot, 180-pounder.

As long as it’s a bidding war, Clemson will not win. This is the new normal.

I believe he was speaking about that revenue share thing everyone gets from the settlement. NIL is an entirely different thing and up to what the schools each raise and their collectives want to spend. Thant is a different matter.

we've all learned to read through them by now.
It still doesn't mean Clemson DOESN'T have the money (he's the 2nd highest paid coach in the country).............Dabo just doesn't know/refuses to utilize it to our advantage.
Money is NOT the main issue for Clemson............We shall see if the recent AD statements ring true moving forward. The statements this week allude to a "we're not screwin' around anymore" mentality regarding the football program..............time will tell if the "big, bad, Clemson" is back or not.

This is the best example of misleading smoke and mirrors responses I’ve seen in a while :

You missed one part there pheebo…
Dabo was and is 💯 accurate in what he said. He was talking about Clemson’s money. So his statement is accurate. It’s not his fault some people are too dumb to understand.
Clemson doesn’t have NIL money. It literally can’t have NIL money.

Billionaire Larry Ellison is paying recruits whatever it takes to get them to Michigan to impress his girlfriend. That’s over and above the $10 million he has publicly put into a NIL fund. No, Clemson cannot compete with that and it’s why sports league cannot function without antitrust agreements.

There is no such thing as an antitrust agreement.

There are antitrust "exemptions".
College football isn't going to get one without giving the athletes employee status, unionization, the right to strike, and worker's comp.
That won't affect private NIL because those $$ don't come from the NCAA.

Bluffton OrangeManDude, just stop. You know precisely what I meant and pro sports contracts restrict far more than just salary due to their antitrust status. College sports are doomed without one because competitive sports can’t function w/o them. The NCAA was built on a house of cards and it’s ridiculous it took this long to fall apart. The court approved revenue sharing agreement is for former players. The model being deployed for current players will be immediately challenged in court and lose because it’s a clear antitrust violation. Until the ncaa (or individual leagues) get an antitrust exemption they will never again be able to enforce rules over players. They’ve lost every case.

Agreement is not out of place in context. It is an “agreement” between the Federal government and the NFL. You’re being an absolute ####### and you are fundamentally wrong.

Non of the pro sports even have to get into bidding wars for rookies.
This is so bad. I don’t even want to watch this crap anymore. Although I am not outside of Clemson .

I believe that we are hoarding our financial resources for 4 recruits:
Amare Adam’s -DT Watford - DE Logan Anderson - LB Brayden Jacob’s - OT
Given our depth problems on the DL and LB n t season, we must hold into these four recruits.
As for Jacobs, OL will not be a depth problem next year. In 2026 our OL will need 4+ new starters. We need to get Jacobs started in 2025 as far as getting acclimated to the college game.
I’m betting that Clemson will go toe to toe against anyone in a bidd8ng war for any / all of the four recruits listed above.

That’s how it is when hiring employees. If one demands a salary beyond what you are willing to pay you let them walk. There are a few you’ll pay anything for. But certainly not all.
