I think we have PLENTY of bodies there they are just all pretty young...but they are talented, someone is just going to have to step up. I mean look at Gaines and Vic, neither were that highly recruited and look what happened...there is a guy in there that is going to be the next great one I feel like.

We've got crazy depth at DE.
Starters:
4* Shaq Lawson
4* Kevin Dodd
Reserves:
4* Richard Yeargin
4* Austin Bryant
4* Albert Huggins
3* Dane Rogers
4* Clelin Ferrell
4* Chris Register
3* Martin Aiken
3* LaSamuel Davis
We've got 4* players stacked on top of 4* players. Losing Ebo hurts, but having Huggins and Bryant to back up Dodd makes it hurt a lot less.

the end of spring[move back out?], register just moved, dane was moved inside, aiken has been here, but has barely scratched any meaningful or significant playing time.
davis is a project and ferrell is coming off an acl.
bryant will be hurried along as much as humanly possible, no doubt.

If it comes down to it (Dodd gets injured), Lawson can also play the strong side. That would bring a guy like Yeargin into the picture.

tried to define "playmaker" as sammy watkins, a once in a lifetime talent? we had plenty of playmakers...
still, here we are, you rolling out options at defensive end that haven't stepped foot on campus, have not played a part or taken a snap in a college game, some of which are destined for redshirts.
i have no doubt if we have 2 game ready DEs, they will play 2; bv has said as much about other positions.

mine is not a complaint, we've got who we've got and i trust bv, coach hobby, coach brooks and reed will coach up the defense, but let's be honest about what we got.

why start now? honesty and truth and logic do not run rampant on this board. you should know that!! you know a lot people like to say they are clemson grads when they are not. lol!!!!!!!! and you are just one of the many!!!!!!!!!!! venables will have to earn that million dollar plus salary this year. you just don't replace the caliber athletes we did and not miss a beat. several are going to have to step up and grow up quick on that side of the ball. BUT if watson stays healthy we should be able to out score most everybody we play and not have to put too much pressure on the d!
