Chances Watson pulls an Andrew Luck?
Jul 6, 2016, 11:12 AM

Andrew Luck was the consensus overall pick his junior year and he stayed for his senior year, possibly to avoid going to Charlotte, who knows.
Standford was a BCS bowl team his junior year, but not as high up the mountain as Clemson IMO.
Especially if the Browns hold the #1 pick, what are the chance Watson coming back?
While I know they are slim, it's impossible to say never since we've someone do the exact same scenario only about five years ago.

Careful there, you'll get a billion thumbs down if you even mention that Deshaun should even consider what Andrew Luck did.

Andrew Luck,

was well-off financially and in a position where he could wait another year, Watson does not come from a wealthy family by any means. But that would be amazing if he could stay another year!

Plus he will have his degree, and that was a promise to mom. DW4 will be working out for an NFL team this time next year unless, he has an injury, and he would come back to prove that he is still the best and deserving of the #1 pick. Other than that, I'm more than grateful he chose Clemson to set up his future in the NFL. He could have done that from about any school except for the coots. But if Spurrier would have had DW4, he would still be the coots HC!!!

Deshaun is on schedule to graduate early. Therefore, he will have a diploma in one hand and a nice signing bonus in the other. Would love to see him stay, but it's not happening.

Agreed. His only promise was that he would walk out with a diploma. He's busting his ### to ensure that happens in 3 football seasons.

I would say, if Watson remains healthy all year, and if we win the National Championship, there is zero chance he comes back. If (God forbid) he gets hurt at some point, AND/OR we don't win it all, I would give it a 5% chance unless he misses more than half of the season.
I hope he stays healthy, shatters the record books, wins the Heisman, wins the NC, and is the #1 pick... Bring on Kelly, Israel, Cooper, Johnson, and Brice

and he shouldn't be a Peyton Manning either. Watson is NFL ready. The only reason that he should even consider staying is if Cleveland or Buffalo have the #1 pick. They are to QBs what South Carolina is to coaches.

Living down in the Pan Handle of Florida there are a lot of FSU fans. I ran into one a few weeks ago and he was telling me that he got to meet Deshaun and Artavis on a cruise a few months back. He even showed me a picture of himself and Deshaun. Anyway, He asked Deshaun if he would be leaving after this coming season and supposedly Deshaun said that only if he met all his goals. Graduation was 1st and then the NC and Heisman as well. So I think there is a chance that he returns if he doesn't win the Heisman or the NC. How much of a chance, only Deshaun knows but I do believe we have a great QB coach as evident with how Cole looked against Oklahoma after Coach Streeter only had a month to work with him. With the talent that Clemson has a backups presently and commitments I think we will be reloading after Deshaun leaves. Go Tigers

Just the fact that I believe we will be fine when he does leave. Not that anyone could replace Deshaun but we have a great QB coach and great recruits coming in. We are built to win with whomever is at QB.
