Any chance that Sammy Brown takes snaps at RB for us?

On film I've seen him both run through, and outrun, would-be tacklers. His highlight film is about half offense, half defense.
What do you think the odds are of the coaches using him in special situations as a runningback? Do you think he has a desire to score a few TDs offensively?
Does the possibility exist that he's better than the two guys we have back there now? Could he be coached to be that kind of guy?
The way that we always get shafted in Heisman voting (you'll never convince me that TL16 or DW4 wasn't the best players in college in their respective seasons), might a guy who excels two ways give us a chance?
Before any of these guys start up: * "Are you crazy? He's rated highly as a LB and that's why we targeted him." * "The coaching staff knows what they're doing and your input is not valuable."
I'm just speculating. It's a fun off-season thing to do.
If someone else has already broached this subject, forgive me. I missed it.

More than likely, Ship nor Mafah will be here next season. Sammy could be a great goal line/short yardage option. We'll see.

We have two very effective RB's and good backups. If Dabo and Riley get dumb all of sudden and risk a potential great LB to have a knee injury and put him on the bench...and you know the potential of that happening.

as a linebacker and may start his junior or senior season.
Not gonna play running back. He is just physically gifted and in High School his film looks good running the ball, but will not translate at the collegiate level.

will be happy and be able to play.
Clemson fills those two criteria - the environment suits him and he will see playing time.

Perhaps on KO return as an up back.

We aren't rhe coots. Their running backs are a 7th year journeyman that should have come to clemson and been a DB and a true frosh tight end

We have more RB than linebackers.

BC used one of their best LBs (Brian Toal) for short yardage

He was very effective but as I recall, he hurt his shoulder doing it and ruined his career.
We don’t need to used Sammy in this manner.

Maybe in Emergency Situations

But hope to never see another injury ridden season like 2021 for as long as possible.
Also, two-way players outside of emergencies are just gonna be as rare as finding a TL16 and DW4 generational player... heck, maybe even rarer since they'd need to be equally good on both sides!
If it were to happen....it'd probably be like a DB/WR hybrid.
QBs are never gonna play both sides again. RB is a high risk, lowish ceiling spot at the moment so if you're not already playing, you're likely not volunteering to that spot as a two-way player. Not to mention the NFL has just devalued that spot like crazy the past 10 years.

Sammy Brown starts at LB on Day 1 if Carter & Trotter leave

Do not see Ship and Mafah leaving early. From an NFL skill level standpoint, both are way behind Carter and Trotter.

I agree on this. Shipley might go, but Mafah comes back

… because he needs a year as the #1 back to show the NFL his stuff.
I mean, both guys will probably have the chance to make pro money eventually, but they won’t both be high draft picks after next season.
