In my view a collection of tweets bundled together by a lazy sports reporter does not equal “pretty much everybody”
What exactly was he supposed to say that would constitute an acceptable response?

Maybe he should’ve stated something like, “As commissioner, I will do everything in my power to increase the revenue for each our schools. Our members that bring in more revenue should be able to keep more money. Whether we like it or not, times are changing. The status quo is no longer acceptable and the ACC will not be left behind.”
Instead, we got, “College football is like a gated community, but we should all be part of the collective good and be nice to each other…we’re looking at all options though. Congress should step in and regulate (because that always ends well). And the ACC will continue to bend over and grab our ankles for Notre Dame because they’re so special and wonderful….”

Sankey also called on Congress to intervene. Both he and Philipps realize that operating NIL under a patchwork of state laws will only lead to chaos. Like it or not, there is only one body who can do it.

Sankey, Phillips, and the other commissioners should call out the NCAA and tell them to do their job in regulating and operating the NIL, transfer portal, and the realignment issues. It’s the Wild West because of the NCAA does nothing.

If you look most if not all commissioners want Congress to get involved in making uniform NIL rules. To take it out of states hands.
