posted this earlier today that rushing 3 defensive ends would put the pressure on Tua. especially xavier and cle coming off the edge.

You need big boys in the middle to soak up the blocks from the O-line. It's hard for DEs to do that with the weight/strength disadvantage. You can hold up for a while with 3 or 4 DEs and 3 LBs, but it won't take long for them to get worn out against a good O-line. DTs have to control space so LBs know where to look for gaps/run fits.

Yep. It's a true testament to our DTs they make so many plays. Most DTs are asked to absorb blocks and take up space so a DE or LB can make the tackle.
