I thought he was a verbal commit. Just read a article on clemson insider that kinda made it seem like hes open. Anybody got any insight?

He's never been committed to Clemson. I don't even think he's visited Clemson??? I didn't even know anything about him.

He's a 2018 prospect, likely five star and in state, that has camped with us before

I guess i must have been thinking of somebody else. I hope we can get him though. The guy is a beast. Tci has some good articles from time to time. I just like reading about my tigers though regardless who writes the articles.

tci has some decent articles about the CURRENT ROSTER. position battles, player reactions, etc.
DO NOT go there for recruiting news.... they suck at that. might actually hurt us with occasional recruits. but to read practice reports & post-game stuff, they do get some good insight there IMO

numerous times. He hasn't given anyone a verbal and just came out with his top 5 last week but that list is very likely to change with a year and a half to go before he can sign anywhere.

Never know though watson was pretty firm once he made his decision. Man im ready for the season then i wont have to worry bout recruiting. I can just watch the magic on the field

You are probably getting ZAY THOMAS and ZAY KELLY confused! Both are DE's! Kelly is a 2016 and just recently arrived on campus from Kansas!

Xavier Kelly, the four star DE out of Kansas is already on campus taking classes. Xavier Thomas, the five star out of Florence, SC is the big fish that will either be a Tiger or a Gamecock.

It seems to me the OP is getting him confused with the DB (4*) decommit from Alabama. That Xavier is a 2017 recruit and I don't think he has been to Clemson, but he is former teammates with Tre Lamar.
