Just wondering if there has been any discussion or concrete answer to the question.
Thanks in advance

That's what I'm thinking at least.

He seem like an all-world WR. Why dilute that? Is he now firm to us. I've heard all kind of stuff. I'm thinking "yes," Andy info to the contrary?

If u have ever watched his film, he looks like an all world running back too. But he is an all world wide receiver, athlete too

Our offense makes terminology a little difficult

I could see him "technically" being a slot WR but lining up in backfield and taking handoffs as Sammy did, possibly running wildcat, running jet sweep action.
Much like Scott he will be all over the place.

He could play a Percy Harvin type role for Clemson

Could play anywhere...WR, RB mostly but if he played corner it wouldn't surprise me if he had an NFL future at that position as well.

He reminds me of Jacoby Ford ...

About the same size. Maybe not quite as fast, but with a bit more wiggle.

Head and shoulders a better prospect than Ford.

Ford was straight line speed only. Like an alligator. Could not zig-zag, poor open field elusiveness/vision.
And he wasn't like 6'5" to make up for it, unfortunately. In the Pro's, but Ray Ray is significantly ahead in terms of being able to come in and contribute to (a now top 10, WRU squad).
Ford comes in this class w RM3 & Cain and he would unquestionably Red-shirt.

I said McCloud "reminded me" of Ford ...
Same size, less speed, more wiggle.

Agreed. Just elaborating. We also sent Ford to prep school do a year at Fork Union
Feb 5, 2015, 5:32 PM
|
|
So he came in after a year of prepping for this level. Far less talent on the team he joined, and RM3 will STILL likely out-produce, in his True Fr year, what Ford did his first year in the program.... and SHATTER his career stats by the time he leaves.
Don't forget, RM3's productivity will come on a team stacked with NFL WR talent, playing in MUCH bigger games.
Will also be a return specialist.
Ford never played RB. His open-field vision/elusiveness/ability to break tackles while suiting up in Orange, was in another galaxy of that which you'll see from RM3 be in '15 & beyond.

There's so much skill and talent ahead of him i'm just worried that either him or someone else won't be able to contribute. If you think of all the talented players we have on offense it will be difficult to distribute yards to Mike Williams, Charone Peake, Artavis Scott, Gerone Hopper, Trevion Thompson, Deon Cain, and RRMIII. And thats just wide receivers.

WR depth chart:
Boundary WR - Williams, Thompson Field WR - Peake or Cain (dependent on injuries) Slot WR - Scott, RR3 or GHop (now or never for GHop)
Bell will RS, possibly move to TE (lacks WR speed, and has a frame to hold 250.
That's all the depth we should need barring injuries, but that's how I see 2015 panning out...plenty of talent to distribute the rock to, but not too much.

Dark Horse: Trevion Thompson will have one HELL of a season.. Mark it down... He was killing it during the spring and bowl practices.. He is just one more weapon for DW to use.. Just imagine if Kyrin wouldn't have been dismissed from the team.. HOLY CRAP!

He will be a WR in my opinion, NOT a RB.

He may occasionally carry the ball on a jet sweep or reverse, or even from the wildcat, but in no way, shape, or form does that mean he's a RB. In my mind at least, Sammy Watkins was a WR all the way, and was never considered a RB, even though he sometimes carried the ball. He wasn't a WR/RB, he was a WR who sometimes carried the ball; I expect it to be the same with McCloud. I know he should put on some weight after he gets to Clemson, but right now he's probably at least 25 lbs from being even an occasional RB, even if that were in the cards.

As in Right Bench. Way to many players just as fast and 20-30 lbs heavier than him ahead on the depth chart. Deon on the other hand will be an instant impact I think. Ray Ray I think we could redshirt.

Nah, Ray Ray will play slot, wr and RB. Flexible for those positions and gives DW options. Look for Cain to pass about 7-10 times with a couple of TDs. Like I said options.
