Thoughts on tonight's game, crowd, and Milt.

I didn't quite understand why with about 7 or 8 minutes to go we seemed to abandon the dominance Booker was showing underneath and instead focused on the motion and setting up guards for shots. Booker became a screener instead of a guy just posting up and getting the ball.
As far as the crowd goes, I'm not going to call out fans/students for attendance but I will say it is pretty pathetic and should be embarassing that people will hear a public address announcer multiple times explain to the crowd not to leave because our Coach and Seniors will be speaking after the game, and instead of sticking around, they continue to file out as Coach Brownell is speaking. It is literally 15 more minutes of their time. I felt bad for Coach Brownell, felt bad for Milt and Booker, and President Barker, who was in attendance, had to be pretty disappointed, too. Now I know some of you ######### will cry they have given you no reason at all to stay which brings me to Milt and a reinforced feeling there has never been a Clemson athlete more villified than this guy and it is pathetic and I think Coach Brownell carefully chose his words in the post game to somewhat address that.

I guess I am guilty,in a way,as some of those fans that left early.I cut the tv off with 3 minutes left in what was definitly going to be another frustrating loss. However this game was over at the 8:49 mark when Clemson surrendered the lead, and went the next 4 minutes or so without a made basket from the field. But if you care to blame the fans for filing out early, then part of the blame has to fall on the coach ,and the players. This is not the first game this season where the Tigers have had cold stretches in either half to either surrender the lead,or fall even further behind in a game in a game. Talk about disappointing.Maybe it was the fans way of showing the team, the coaches and President Barker just how disappointing this season has been.
P.S.I do feel for both Devin, and Milton. Both guys played thieir hearts out at times this season with little ,or no help from the remainder of the team. There were times this season that both ended up with double digit performances, only to have the opposing team end up with multiple double digit scores as well. Clemson played as tough defensively all season long, but without a consistent scoresr(s) it was pretty obvisous we were in for a long season.

the lukewarms who will support winning programs, the understatement, of course, being that to retain both types, you've got to win. Bill probably hit the nail on the head by posting that they should've done the honors before the game, if possible. Regardless, until the entire Clemson family changes its level of commitment to basketball, beginning with the BOT, we may witness more occasions like you addressed...and I say this admitting that I'm usually in the "pumper" crowd. I really hope Brownell finds success, but, if not, then we need to reevaluate our efforts...another subject that will require extended discussions.

How about the admin. being a little smarter and doing the ceremony at halftime when they know the masses wouldn't be on the way out.

I was at the game and admit that I filed out as soon as it was over. I had to drive back to Greenville and didn't get home until after 10:00. Had to be at work this morning.
I was really disappointed in the number of kids down in the student section. I know the weather was bad, but come on. You have to show up and support your fellow students on senior night.
If we had a bigger crowd in there, it could have turned the tide of the game. I only remember one time in the entire game when the crowd acted like they even wanted to be there. Just not enough energy in the place....

the administration for the atmosphere. If you're going to honor the seniors do it before the game or at half time...that way it doesn't matter if you win or lose everyone is hyped. After losing to BC, you can't really blame folks for wanting to leave...not fair to the seniors but it is what it is. High Schools have figured this out.
Something needs to be done with BB at LJ...the students need to be on the floor. Heck Roy Williams called us out after the UNC game.
All and all it has been a frustrating year. We were in most of the games up until the end but just couldn't pull it out. Got to give BB two more years and then evaluate. Really think the loss of McD hurt over the last 3 games.

Players and coach get a mike at the end of the game. You can't really do that before the game and definitely not at halftime.

Let them do it at halftime?!? What are these people thinking? The idea is the game is over, and its 10 to 15 more minutes of your time and frankly, last night's Brownell speech would have been much shorter if the man didn't have to talk to the remaining Clemson fans like disgruntled employees of his and explain WHY they should be celebrating these two. It was like Brownell is keenly aware of the all the bitching and moaning about these two players and wanted to get it off his chest and correct the ignorant fans out there......why I turned Mickey off earlier than usual this morning after taking my daughter to school, people on there saying this team has QUIT. "They quit, man. They quit." ####

our students show up maybe one game a year....they are giving incentives to come to the game and still don't show up. As a season ticket holder I look forward to them sticking me with a ticket price increase for whatever upgrade they do to our basketball facilities. The program has hit a low we have not seen since Shyatt was coach

gone. The kid got more chances than most kids do at Clemson if I as a student would have yelled at my coach.....went psycho on someone at the athletic academic facility.....and 3rd got arrested for smoking weed by pulling the wires to a fire alarm....they would have kicked me out....he posts stuff on twitter throughout the season that magically gets taken down about 15 min after he post it due to calling people out....I hate to say it the kid should grow up and be a man...Life is hard face it...the kid has been given every chance in the world to succeed and he does not seize the opportunity instead he crys to the ref on every call he does not get on every shot he does not make...I hope he enjoys a great career in Europe

But maybe you should know some details and consider the first 10-12 years of Milt's life before you cast so many stones. The easiest thing in the world to do is to sit on the outside looking in and criticize others without knowing where they've walked, many times with worn out shoes or even none at all. Beware that the person of whom you're critical may have qualities far greater than you realize.

..... your comments above are even more unfair. Most of us have committed similar "atrocities" to those you cite regarding Milton Jennings. Congratulations for never having made a mistake in your formative years.

Don't blame the fans. Accept we're not a basketball school. Probably never will be. A tougher ACC + lack of high school talent in the state dooms the program. That's ok. Should fans get blamed for lack of attendance at Duke football games? They aren't a football school.
Only a dynamic coach or an outside the box system is going to have consistent success. Otherwise success will only come sporadically when Clemson hits on talent that matures through their stay or one mercurial player once in a blue moon.
