Would you feel better

If we won out the rest of the season in blowout fashion? Im not sure I would even if we won the remainder of our games by 30 points.

I think I need to see some heads roll... And then win out by 30 to feel like we are on the right track.

It would be a strange mix of feelings. Happy we got it turned around. Angry we started so bad. Disappointed that not much would be changed in the offseason. That being said, probably don't have to worry about that scenario.

Even Blowouts Can Be a Mirage

I get the impulse—winning out in dominant fashion would feel good. But for me, it wouldn’t be enough. Not yet.

Because if we win out by 30 points, it might soothe the scoreboard, but it doesn’t address the deeper fracture. The systemic issues—the stagnation, the misfires in development, the lack of adaptation—don’t vanish just because the final scores look pretty.

Sometimes a late-season surge masks a doctrine failure. And if we don’t trial the system now, we risk repeating the same cycle next year. I’m not calling for chaos, but I do think accountability matters. If heads roll, it shouldn’t be for optics—it should be because the system needs recalibration.

Winning is great. But winning with clarity, cohesion, and consequence? That’s how you know the program's back on track.

Thanks to the TNET Grammar Police correcting me, I do get an occasional assist with AI to clean up my post. The talking points are mine but my typing, grammar and spelling isn't what it used to be so get a little help to put out a better post.

If we blew out Duke, Lousiville, FSU, and Carolina?

yeah i would feel better b/c that would mean they figured something out and changed. One of the main things I care about is losing the apathy and the confusion amongst this team. It would also mean that they've made adjustments and the right ones. Means they're using their heads and are becoming better coaches and players.

BV as a defensive coordinator was always making adjustments. IF we were getting beat in the first half you would usually see us tighten up in the second b/c he pinpointed the problem and adjusted. I don't think we've adjusted anything since the first game this season. We have a gameplan and we just run it regardless of the results this season and really for the last 5 seasons. Same offensive line gaffs, same RPO philosophy/plays regardless if CAde or Vizzina is playing.. Vizzina runs like Tom Brady yet we're still calling designed runs. As an offensive coach iF you can't recognize that CV doesn't have that skill set then there isn't much I can tell you.

I don't see them making adjustments or shifts in philosophy is my hunch.

that would indicate that things are headed back in the right direction. Because for that to happen, the guys who have been half-a$$ing it and taking plays off decided to give 100% on every play. That would mean that Cade (or Chris, or whoever) finally learned how to go through their progressions at QB. It would mean that our receivers were getting open and the QB was getting them the ball. And it would mean that our corners and LBs learned how to play football at this level. That's all what we've been waiting for since Trevor left.

after this season.

an 8+ win season does exactly what it did the last 5 years....blinds Dabo into thinking everything's great and follow it up with another non-elite team and program the following year.

I think we would all love this disaster to stop. The idea that it could stop suddenly assumes that we have a great time that just needs the switch turned on. We all know by know that that is not the case.

Every game we win from here, save Furman, is an upset win.

I only talk about familiar upsets which are the 4 losses. Your message makes me say I hope we lose to Furman. What is wrong with me.

How many questions did this?

After Georgia Tech. If we win out?
After Syracuse. If we win out
After SMU. If we win out.

Guys wake up and realize we aren’t a good team and this season is over. We’ve got a few other losses coming.

Rationally, most including me doubt that scenario can play out between the Louisville game and Tiger play this year.

That said, a win-out scenario would help build a wider moat around the program to help recruiting and and reduce players leaving via the transfer portal.
