Other than the obvious, who has the worst fans? Now that I've been stuck in PA for the past five years, Penn State are really really awful. Went to the hockey regional in Allentown, PA yesterday and it was a zoo. They're total animals and beyond arrogant. Does anybody like them? If you live in PA you also realize that none of the other schools matter. PSU sucks all the air out of the room. I love when they lose.

I've only been around Penn State fans once--when Clemson beat them in the Citrus Bowl in the late '80s. I can't speak for others, but my group had no problems with them.
Maryland fans were the worst, followed by UGA.

Grew up in a UGA family. Will always pull for them when not playing Clemson, but they are snobby.

Every school has trashy fans for sure. The older I get the less I like UGA but like I said, I grew up a fan.

As a player back in the day, the worst fans the team had to endure were Maryland and Auburn. #1 was always Usuck...No question.
#1-A was Maryland. At the time they had a locker room facility that looked like a 1930's military hutch with nails for your clothing on a wooden frame seat. Just an awful place. When we came back to the visitors locker room after the game, all our wallets and valuables were gone. Thieves cleaned us out while we were on the field.......cash, credit cards, watches, rings, jewelry.......all gone.
#2 was Auburn. Jordan-Hare Stadium had a tunnel we walked through to the field. The fans above us poured beer, soft drinks and God knows what else on us as we came through the tunnel each time and the stadium security stood and watched. Awful experience! In addition to the 51-0 drubbing Auburn gave us as we introduced Pat Sullivan and Terry Beasley to college football.

Lived near there years ago and never had a problem but then times could have changed. We were there when one winter they raised up each section of the stadium and poured concrete stand below them to expand it. Very interesting project

As a Penn State alumnus, I will say the students are super obnoxious but the older fans are great. There are much worse fanbases.

My Uncle (played at Clemson in late 1950's), my Pop, and me were leaving grass parking lot outside Sanford Stadium. My Unc had a big ### Bonneville with Tiger Paw magnets on it. Jack Daniel's bottle comes skidding across hood, breaks into pieces and glass and whiskey goes everywhere. Unc slams on breaks, my Pop turns around and tells me, "stay in the ####### car!", doors fly open and I have a front row seat for my Unc and Pop, a NJ Italian roughneck, beat the #### out of three GA fans. I'm talking pummel them. Georgia troopers stop it, my Pop shows them bottle damage, troopers tell them to beat feet out of here, we get in car and my Pop says, "do NOT tell your mother!". I never did. RIP Uncle Doug and Pop. Two of the best MEN I ever have known. My cuz, my Unc's daughter, about died laughing when I told her that story years ago. She was mad that she wasn't there with me since she is a Tiger alum. She calls UGa the Clarke County Inmates. CCi.

That’s a great UGA story! I went the year Ronald Williams got ran down from behind and we got spanked. My buddy was a fighter. I mean he wanted to make love or fight and he was usually all out of women. Well, the week before he got in a fight with a Jack Reacher looking dude and had a broken leg. He’s on crutches, some UGA dude said something and I just bowed my head cause I knew he was going to get himself killed. He proceeded to whip three dudes while bouncing on one foot! I just kept others from jumping in on him. Sanford stadium is the only one I’ve ever had to fight the opposing fans just to leave. It was hilarious watching ol Mike whip those boys on one leg!

I would say we have one of the most defensive fan bases. I thought this to myself but I’ve order from others that we feel like “ we don’t get respect” or “ everyone is against us” more than most. I think this stems from being the red head step child if you will amongst the ACC schools on Tobacco Road and all that we feel like a bit of an outsider amongst SEC schools that we are more like from a football standpoint.
I’m sure I will get some defensive comments but don’t worry I’m not a “ coot” lol

I wouldn’t say that at all. I’ve always witnessed Clemson fans to be the most gracious and hospitable fan base around. Just ask MOST visiting fans. I have opened my tailgate to many opposing fans and shared great times with them. They always comment about how they are treated like old friends and always feel welcome in Death Valley. I remember when FSU joined the ACC and were shocked at how friendly our fans were to them. They claimed they were used to having to fight their way out of opposing stadiums especially Miami.
Can we get defensive? Of course. It’s usually deserved. Some hick from Tenn or northern redneck fro Columbus start down talking our program and that southern gentleman behavior can turn hostile quickly. You coots know. 🤣

If you base the question on the most “fair weather fans” who also are not that knowledgeable and can be quite obnoxious, then I’d give the nod to Miami. Totally non-supportive of their team when they’re not winning.
The most arrogant, obnoxious, and total ——heads, Ohio State #1 for me, followed closely by UGA. So Carolina doesn’t deserve acknowledgment until they win at least one conference championship in the last 60 years.
On the other side: I think Nebraska has some of the most gracious and welcoming fans. Remarkably, I have had great experiences with Bama fans, win or lose, during those 3 Natty games.

I heard horrible stories of Maryland fans when they were in ACC, but never traveled there to experience it. So on personal experience I would say
LSU
UGA
usuc
NC State
I think NC State and usc fans are very similar.
