My thought is there is a different skill set to be a technician/coach/teacher and a HC/leader. Interesting to know nonetheless.

A close family friend was on staff with him out in Oregon and is/was currently on staff with him at Florida Atlantic. I am curious and surprised at his leaving. Perhaps money was better.

Dang you are right. I missed that probably because FAU is not very relevant. I texted the guy I know and I hope he still has his job haha. I got the impression that Taggart was not that great a guy from him. He was my son's postion coach in high school and we became close. Small town. Anyways, he spent a year at Wofford and then got hired at Oregon when Taggart went there. He sounded like he did not care for him and left and went one year to work at Pittsburgh. Then he ran into some Oregon coaches and they talked him into coming back to Oregon at a coaches conference after Taggart was gone. Fast forward he left Oregon to become Chief of Staff at Boise State. Something happened, didn't ask and he ended back up with Taggart.
