Despite popular belief. But one game does not a season make. I hope they do keep winning like this and at the end of the year I can look like the biggest idiot ever. But I’ve fell for it too many times. We shall see how the rest goes. Obviously this was a huge win.

which is why the overreaction here after a loss is so disappointing.
We are having one of our best seasons in ACC play in program history. After 75% of the conference games have been played, we are in the top 4, one game out of first place, with a chance to win the regular season. There have only been several times in programs history we’ve been ranked this high in the conference standings this late in the season. Some of you need to keep that in mind rather than whine about how awful we are and how bad Brownell is.

Honestly i don't care if acc is down. Lots of teams from down conferences make a run in the tourney.
If we end up in 1st after the regular season…. Who cares about how strong acc is? Does pitt football care that acc was down when they won the acc last year?
Right now we just need to keep winning and get the double bye. If we finish in first i will be over the moon happy.

Plus, our football history is better than everyone else’s and our administration and fans support football better than any other ACC school’s do.
In addition, our football team was top four nationally in preseason polls and expected to win the ACC.
All of these factors feed into my expectations, just as they do for most other fans as well. So when our football team underachieves relative to those factors, and many of our talented players don’t seem to improve as much as they should, it’s disappointing.
Our basketball program has less funding from the administration than almost every other ACC team. We don’t have a very good basketball history. Our fan support is among the worst in the ACC. We often play teams with more talent.
In contrast to football last year, our basketball team was picked 11th in the preseason and is beating those expectations big time. We are doing it with players who have improved significantly during their time in the program. We are very much in the hunt for a regular season ACC championship. These are the kinds of seasons that are supposed to be fun and exciting, but many of you can’t seem to get past your dislike for Brownell and general negativity about the program.

No, but I did think we could end the season at 11-9, one game above .500, middle of the ACC and it would have been a pretty good year vs. preseason #11. That can still happen. And I honestly would not be overly surprised if it did, given past performance setting expectations and all.
I'm happy that were where we are now, wishing we had shyatt the bed against SCAR, Loyola-Chicago, and BC. Wishing we had not been run out of the gym, embarrassed at the lack of effort and fundamentals at UNC for the 60th time (still savoring that 1 win and give CBB credit for it).
I'm pulling as hard as I can for continued winning.

Honestly, you’re starting to sound like a gamecock.
Brad Brownell may very well have the best winning percentage for a Clemson coach in the ACC. That’s only because the ACC has been watered down by expansion and we play games against many more bad ACC teams and the ACC is weaker now and has been for the last few years than in its entire history!
There are 2 ACC teams in the top 20. Only one in the top 10. None in the top five. Neither one of them is named duke or North Carolina. Neither one of those two is in the top 25.
The ACC in basketball is at an all time low and has been for years. And again it’s also water down with a lot of bad teams in the bottom half of the league.
Your comments are like the one eyed man in the village of the blind. The giant that lives among midgets.
It’s a complete lack of self-awareness in regards to Clemson basketball.

Also Boston College and Miami. In the big picture Clemson is something like 71 in the NET. It take beating Quad 1 (Virginia) and Quad 2 to improve our NET ranking.

So you're saying last night wasn't just one of the days when the team has everything click and the opponent falls apart? Like Clemson did against SCAR, or Loyola-Chicago, or Boston College, or even getting blown out by UNC and Wake Forest?
I'm pleased as punch that we won and won big. I was surprised, because I had prepared myself for a loss, based on history. I hope this win propels the team to winning 9 or 10 more games in a row (I didn't do the math...however many it would take to end the season as ACC Champions and NCAAT Champions). I hope this season marks the first of many 20+ win seasons in a row for CBB, and that Clemson becomes a national powerhouse under CBB.
I'm not willing to bet any money on any of that, though.
Because if there's one thing that JK has taught us, it's that any team can catch fire on a given day. It doesn't mean they're a good team or that the team that lost doesn't have a great coach, great plyers, great program. It's just one game that everything worked.

The defensive intensity from the outset was a big improvement from the last few games. Even better than the game at FSU imo.
