DJ and the RPO

No doubt DJ has an incredible arm. The RPO is a critical part of our offense too though, or has been. How do you see DJ running it? The 2 games last year were not good indicators either way and I hope not indicative of his speed. We will need for him to run from time to time.

With our backup QB situation, I hope he won’t be running much.***

one minor concussion and we could lose a league game. I think the committee would look past one of these, but not if we also lost to UGA.

I know you are a coot, but it’s simple. DJ had a hurt shoulder against ND, therefore no run in RPO. He’s more of a TB, but with more lateral speed. The QB room may not look like Cole backing up DW, but it’s way better than advertised. Clemson will use the same recipe without question, but you knew that. Thanks for comin out.

I would say it's probably wider than the gap between Deshaun and Cole Stoudt. Cole had one of the worst QB performances in the Dabo era, but he also gashed Oklahoma. I don't think Hunter is that good, and I don't see how people can watch the Spring games with him and come to the conclusion that he is.

Cole Stoudt post Oklahoma performance would be a given to the analogy (should have stated that).

With the talent we have in the backfield. I'd love to see us adjust from RPO to play-action. This depends on the O-line being able to create some running lanes for our backs.
DJ most certainly has the arm strength to punish any safety or LB who crashes down guessing we are running the ball. The less we expose DJ to cheap hits, the better.

Based on how Trevor was used...

there is no doubt in my mind DJ will be running the ball. It's coming. I really don't like the idea at all.
But Dabo made it a priority for Trevor to use his legs more and it was the right decision.

DJ is fast & a great runner, he will keep the defense honest & run more than Trevor did.
