With LSU on its way to SECCG, all but guarantees 2 SEC teams in CFP

As Defending National ChampionUGA is guaranteed a spot win or lose in SECCG
Tennessee will be written in if they stay undefeated
LSU gets in if they beat UGA, UGA still gets in with head to head over Tennessee

UGA is in no matter what. LSU would get in too in that scenario

There is no way a 3 loss team gets in

Highly unlikely that 2 loss teams or non division winners get in.
It's literally never happened.

It has. Bama got in as a non-division winner.

Tennessee isn’t undefeated and will not be a champion of any kind. That puts them behind any 1 loss conference champ

UT is trying to overcome that history by putting up style points today. I can only hope the committee doesn’t reward them for doing that.

Literally no 1 loss conference champ has ever been left out. A 2 loss conference champ has been left out in favor of a 1 loss non-conference champ 3 times however, Ohio State when Penn State won the Big 10 with 2 losses, Alabama as a 1 loss non-champ in 2019 and last year, Georgia as a 1 loss non-conference champ.
If Oregon runs the table and wins out including the PAC 12, or TCU wins out undefeated, there is no real scenario where 2 SEC teams get in, besides I think there's "replay fatigue" in having the same teams play each other again and will be a factor in deciding the 4th team.

I also wish they would intentionally avoid rematches completely and treat the Conf championship games as The First Four / an elimination game.
- There is no point in Oregon making it in if UGA is in. - There was no point in UGA making it in last year. They won the last match, but basically co-championed with Alabama. There is no closure there (as is the goal of a playoff). - Tenn lost bad to UGA. There is no reason to believe they will bring anything new except lack of closure.
The BIG 100 will put up a quality contender; SEC with one; Big 9 has one and then the PAC has decent teams in UCLA, Oregon and USC. I figure USC gets the nod over Tenn if they win out — on branding alone.
ACC is out IMO. We need to get 3 really clean games to close it out; today was a good start. I don’t think we’re a top team. Willing to have my mind changed. But I’m fine with just an Orange Bowl with this team.

Do you recall 2020 when we lost to Notre Dame, played them again in the ACC championship game, and we both made it into the playoffs?

Are you assuming that UGA is going to sit all of their starters for the SEC championship? I'm not sure Tennessee goes in front of us if we look good in the last 3 games. Alabama won't go and LSU has to win out and probably still have some help.

Not sure why Michigan / OSU loser is already being written out. Michigan has been playing good football, although competition isn’t great.

Because whichever one loses will be a 1-loss non-division champ, against a lot of other 1-loss champs. And if it’s Michigan that loses, their resume would be terrible. Very weak schedule.

Who wants to bet UGA has a mysterious “off day” in the SECCG?
