With All Of The Coaching Firings, There Has To Be A Solid QB to Poach

If Dabo stays—and let’s assume he does—then the next doctrine trial is clear: he must search for a better QB, even if it risks losing Klubnik.

This isn’t about disloyalty. It’s about stewardship. Klubnik was handed the reins and has not lived up to expectations.

The situation demands competition. Not just lip service, but real consequence. If the QB room can’t handle a portal trial, it’s not a room—it’s a shrine.

Clemson’s offensive identity is fractured. We’re running a tempo-lite scheme with a QB who struggles to process post-snap. That’s not a fit—it’s a hope.

Loyalty without consequence is rot. If Dabo won’t trial the portal, then he’s not building doctrine—he’s preserving myth.

Klubnik might leave. That’s fine. If he’s the right steward, he’ll win the job back. If not, the program moves forward. But standing pat? That’s not culture. That’s cowardice.

If Dabo’s serious about consequence, there are a number of high profile schools that have fired their HC's or a few on the brink of leaving to poach:

Penn State fired James Franklin. Drew Allar was a five-star with tools, but the system collapsed. If he wants a reset, Clemson should be first in line.

Florida parted ways with Billy Napier. DJ Lagway is a true freshman with elite upside. If the new regime pivots, he could be in play.

UCLA fired DeShaun Foster. Dante Moore was a five-star who struggled in a broken scheme. He needs a reboot. Clemson could offer it.

Virginia Tech let go of Brent Pry. Kyron Drones is a dual-threat with upside. Not a perfect fit, but worth trialing if depth is needed.

Stanford replaced Troy Taylor with Frank Reich on an interim basis. Ashton Daniels showed flashes. If Reich doesn’t stay, Daniels might look elsewhere.

LSU is boiling. Fans are chanting “Fire Kelly” after a blowout loss to Texas A&M. The buyout is massive, but the locker room is fractured. Garrett Nussmeier could be a portal candidate if the regime flips.

Texas is on Sark watch. NFL rumors are swirling, with reported interest in the Titans job. Sark’s agents denied it, but the smoke is real. Arch Manning and Maalik Murphy are elite talents. If Sark bolts, the QB room could splinter.

Why would Klub care?

I think he meant Vizz.

But Vizz isn't the only problem.

My hope is that the OL recruiting will finally show up on the field. The "experienced" group is horrible.

This is what ChatGPT said:
**Thinking about the user's request**

**Understanding the query**

- The question focuses on Cade Klubnik's college football eligibility after the 2025 season.
- Cade Klubnik plays as a quarterback for the Clemson University football team.
**Searching eligibility info**

- Just ran a search for details on Cade Klubnik's remaining eligibility after the 2025 season.
- The results show some confusion, with sources indicating 2025 as his senior and final year.
- To get clearer facts, let's browse his Wikipedia page for a detailed career summary.
**Analyzing career timeline**

- From the Wikipedia summary, Cade enrolled at Clemson in 2022 and redshirted that year, preserving eligibility without using a full season.

**No**, Cade Klubnik does not have any eligibility left after the 2025 season. He enrolled at Clemson in January 2022 and has used all four seasons of competition: he played in 10 games during his 2022 freshman year (exceeding the four-game limit for a redshirt, so no eligibility was preserved), followed by full seasons in 2023, 2024, and now 2025 as a senior. Under NCAA rules, athletes get four seasons within a five-year clock, and his clock ends after the 2025-26 academic year. He announced his return for this final year in December 2024, focusing on a strong senior campaign before entering the NFL Draft.

More from ChatGPT:

Since Cade Klubnik has never used a redshirt, he technically could return for a fifth season if he or Clemson chose to use that redshirt year.

Here’s how it breaks down:

Year Season Notes
2022 Freshman Played enough that it counts — no redshirt
2023 Sophomore Full season
2024 Junior Current season
2025 Senior 4th season — still eligible for a redshirt if he plays ≤ 4 games

So:
👉 If he plays in more than 4 games in 2025, that’s his final year.
👉 If he plays 4 or fewer, Clemson could redshirt him and he’d still have one more year (2026).

Realistically, though, as Clemson’s starter, he’s almost certain to play a full season — so barring injury or a redshirt decision, 2025 will be his last year.

He does not have a Covid year. Covid only applied in the 20 and 21 seasons. He started in 22. He could’ve potentially redshirted after the fourth game, but that ship has now sailed. This is definitely his last season at Clemson.

If that's the case I stand corrected But Dabo still needs to find a portal QB

Sure, get one to develop but we need a "plug and play" guy and for that matter a RB..

I didn't mean to get into the Weeds on CK's eligibility

You all are delusional if you think Dabo is taking a serious portal QB that would challenge his QB from Birmingham.
