I Hope Arch Manning Is A Bust

Hear me out for a moment. I hope that he's a bust for a reason. The reason is, whenever he fails to deliver upon the expectations, it will open a wider recruiting door for Clemson. Could you imagine spending $10M on someone who doesn't perform to the level of expectations? It's going to cause a huge shift in the way NIL is offer despite the NCAA House Settlement. In this instance, culture will win out over NIL because if Arch Manning fails, then NIL contributors will think twice about offering millions to someone straight out of high school.

No they won’t. These donors have blind ambition. They will just find the next great QB to throw the money at.

he's likely a bust my favorite example is when he played Georgia in Austin - he looked very pedestrian and not like most other top ranked 5 stars

Against a motivated Georgia defense.... Manning was thrown into the fire even with whatever lackluster preparation they gave him...... though Ewers was the one that got the full reps. Manning will be improved....or should be improved this year. Plus he has some very good mobility to him... when he decides to run. He can't and really won't be worse than DJU

You dont have any idea how much his NIL deal is; no one does

Unlike many other guys it seems a lot of his NIL deals are legit based on his family name, and its notieriety ,not just recruiting enticements. He’s got deals with Panini, Red Bull, EA Sports, Uber…among others. These are national brands not just the company run by some billionaire who lives in Austin. Also he seems like a good guy. It’s been reported that he gave his entire Panini NIL, $100K, to the Ronald McDonald house in Austin.

I haven't followed him and honestly the last play I remember watching him make was the long pass at the Clemson indoor practice facility prior to his commitment.
I do, however, remember someone saying that if he had a differently last name, he wouldn't be a 5 star recruit.

I hope hes a bust because that'll mean Texas probably sucks. Doubt that people will stop throwing money at 5 star QBs though since there have already been some big name busts and its worse than ever. B

With all due respect OP, you really have no clue

Arch failing won't make NIL fat cats "think twice" one bit. He's just one player in all of CFB. Do you really everything hangs on the results of one guy?
Think of NIL as a massive tidal wave and players as individual surfers. If one player capsizes, the wave keeps moving (unaffected) and the other players will continue riding it.
The NIL gravy train is here to stay. For billionaires, along with middle and high-level millionaires, this is all play money. Everybody knows there will be some disappoints and failures along the way.
For the record: I live in Houston and hate UT sports. I want them to fall flat on their face this year.

I live in San Antonio and hate UT also. I hope he falls flat on his face and #### simultaneously. If that happens the 1st game of the season, it would be wonderful. But I really have no idea what to expect from him.

And that is why UcheaT didn't pony up the money for Nico...

Maybe it would be more meaningful in the NIL domain for Texas to just have a really lousy season, after spending $40 million.
I feel a little better, hoping for that, than hoping for one individual player to be really bad.
I won’t lose any sleep over either outcome though.

Don't think these ultra rich boosters will ever stop trying cut every corner they can and throwing cash at highly rated recruits. They have no scruples and their massive egos won't allow it.

OhioSt led the country in total defense last year so it's possible they wreck his confidence from the first snap and it carries over into the season.

Personally, I wish the IRS would pay him a visit. It would be hilarious if they got him on income tax evasion.
